Old computer died so had to reinstall on new one. Is there a way that one can replace the new files with the old and have Logos appear as previously? I really hate to loose all my notes and highlights, etc.
Thanks for any help.
Ted
Only if you have a back-up of the directory that workspaces, notes, etc are saved in...

You need to do an autopsy to determine the cause of death first. If it's your power supply, you can simply replace it. If your HD died, you may need outside help to get the files. If it's something else and you still choose to get a new computer, you may be able to put your old HD in the new computer as a 2nd HD and copy the files. Dave Hooton has instructions for the files to be copies in the files section of the old newsgroup (news.logos.com).
Hello George,
Thanks for the reply. It turned out to be the mother board on the computer and I do have the files copied into the new system. All the old files have been placed in the same directories in the new, however, it still does not recognize the files. I could not find (news.logos.com), I did find an article by Dave but it seemed to be one where Logos had been backed up and then restored. I need to find out how to replace the news files with my old ones and then get Logos to recognize them.
Thanks again and if you have some more ideas, please let me know.
Here is Dave Hooton's backup utility and instructions. All should be in the zip file here:
0763.Logos_Backup.zip
Ted, if you have not succeeded in getting the files recognised it is because they are in the wrong location! What folders have you copied and into what locations? What is your operating system? How did you install Libronix?

Hello Dave,
Thanks for the response and assistance.
All the resources are available and the program isworking, my problem is that my annotations, reading plans, notes, workspace and configurations are missing. I have copied the following folders,
Bible reading plans
Collections
Resourceassociations
Resourcemarkup
Sentencediagrams
Verselists
Workspaces
From,
My documents/libronix LDS
To,
Documents and settings/bear/application data/libronix DLS
The resources folder was also copied to the correspondinglocation for the new installation.
The OS is Windows 7 Home Premium in a HP 9237 computer; thesoftware was installed from disk and then updated from Libronix.
I can go through all of the configuration setup again if necessary;however, what is crucial for me is getting my annotations, reading plans andnotes restored.
Any suggestions that you may have will be very muchappreciated.
Thanks to all for the suggestions, it is back in original configuration. You were correct Dave, Logos was storing the files in a different directory. There is a location of, all users/bear/my documents/ and also one /users/bear/my documents. I was placing the files into the first one and Logos was using the second one. Thanks again.
