So, In Logos 4 and 5 we are supposed to be able to share our notes, with the members of our forum, form our Logos software. Is anyone else having trouble with this. My documents have been marked to share and say "connected" in the forum, but are greyed out and not accessible. Please help...great tool, eager to use with small group preparation.

Could you elaborate a bit more? I just joined your group for testing, connected to your bible reading plan and your prayer list. I can see the reading list on faithlife.com and in Logos 5 (I'm behind, of course...), see your Prayer List and your Community Notes in Genesis. What's that isn't working?

Can you open the prayer list? If so, what are the steps because we have been able to get at it from within faithlife.com? Do the individuals we wish to share with need to have Logos? Or can they view the document without it? Maybe I just do not understand?

I see it open in my Logos 5 (which is what happens when one connects to a prayer list).

Regarding Prayer lists, AFAIK there's currently no "widget" and no tab for these on faithlife.com, thus they need to use Logos 4 (engine is free) or 5 (free engine to come in a few weeks) or one of the Logos apps (don't know if all of them support prayer lists on all platform).

We are still working on the prayer list widget for faithlife.com so that you can see your prayers and check them off as prayed for; it should be live in a week or two. It will be similar to the reading plan widget that we do have.

You can always see and manage all your documents at documents.logos.com as well. This site will show you all of your personal and group documents.

So no, you don't need the Logos 5 software for any of the features that you see on faithlife.com, unless you want to do some awesome bible study of course. [:)]

I hope that answers your questions!

@Jeff: Hope I could help you a bit. I left your group again and wish you all the best!

    Replying to myself here:

Jeff, I'm not sure if you read the "see and manage" for documents.logos.com as I first did and expected: just see and manage. However, I found that the site actually works for prayer lists!

Direct your group members to https://documents.logos.com/groups/3306403/documents

Double-clicking the prayer list will give this:

(you see I prayed for one of the items, thus it's rescheduled for tomorrow).

    All the best,

This is great, wish I could open/edit these documents. Mine are all greyed out and the note files cannot be opened nor viewed either from Logos.com nor Faithlife.com.  I don't really know what the Connect button is supposed to do but clicking them does nothing but tells me that I'm now connected. Still can't open any documents.  What kind of documents are allowed?

    Benjamin,

I think especially with these features, where you might be looking at the Logos 4/5 desktop or at documents.logos.com or at faithlife.com or a mobile app, and the way various documents work is different, we would need to see a screenshot. Save it as a graphics file (*.png or *.jpg) and use the paperclip icon to attach it to the locatio in your post where it should show up.

    Mine are all greyed out

Which are "mine" (your own docuemnts, those of a group yu are member of?) where are they grey (in faithlife.com they are displayed in grey and don't react to clicks, but this is normal and doesn't carry the message of "greyed out" in the sense of missing functionality.

the note files cannot be opened nor viewed either from Logos.com nor Faithlife.com

Are you member of the group? Did you "get a copy" on documents.logos.com?

I don't really know what the Connect button is supposed to do but clicking them does nothing but tells me that I'm now connected.

the connect button will make you part of e.g. a reading plan or a prayer list: it will show up on faithlife.com, on the Logos desktop and you can even work with a prayer list on documents....

Please post a screenshot of your steps and someone may be able to help you.

Yes, I've discovered this, and I guess this is just the way it is... work in progress.

Which are "mine" (your own docuemnts, those of a group yu are member of?) where are they grey (in faithlife.com they are displayed in grey and don't react to clicks, but this is normal and doesn't carry the message of "greyed out" in the sense of missing functionality.

I created two accounts, one as the group admin (me) and the other as a member (wife's future account), as the group admin I uploaded 3 "logos documents" made from notes in my Logos4, after uploading both accounts show grey  within faithlife.com    Respectfully, and I do appreciate your input, (I also understand that this is probably the programmer's bug or placeholder) it isn't intuitive to make interactive titles grey and expect the user to understand that grey text implies nothing about functionality, because the standard expectation is for loss of functionality when greyed out, and is proven by the fact that when I uploaded a "personal document", a pdf file, the title is not grey but bold green and is clickable (downloadable).

Are you member of the group? Did you "get a copy" on documents.logos.com?

I guess I am just ignorant of what faithlife.com is trying to do here, hence my blundering into the website and trying things out to see if it could be useful for my home group, so we could connect and study together and to collaborate together.   I understand that all members are expected to set up an account with faithlife.com, however I did not expect that they should all have prior knowledge (and ownership?) of logos4/5 and documents.logos.com.

the connect button will make you part of e.g. a reading plan or a prayer list: it will show up on faithlife.com, on the Logos desktop and you can even work with a prayer list on documents....

What I would like to know is how it will show up on faithlife.com. At this stage it shows nothing but greyed out document titles and icons.  However, a key piece of missing information might be in your suggestion
above about directing members to documents.logos.com.  I will
    investigate this portion, thank you.

Please post a screenshot of your steps and someone may be able to help you.

I don't know if you mean I should take screenshots of the steps I took to share a document or the whole set up, so instead of this, could you show me or point me to where someone has given step by step instructions with screenshots?

    Thank you for your help.

    Benjamin,

I think one relevant aspect to understand is in the types of information you can share with Faithlife.com. Some of these are not "documents" in the Logos application sense - such as calendar entries, events, but also (most usable for sharing in a bible study or the reading of a book) Community Notes.

Then there are application documents that can be shared, here documents.logos.com comes into play. Some of these are usable only within the Logos application (either on desktop or mobile device), such as notes, highlighting styles, sentence diagrams. Others may be used on faithlife.com as well, such as Reading Plans, and - upcoming soon - Prayer Lists.

You may see some screenshots of documents.logos.com in other recent threads, or directly above in this thread.

    Hope this helps,

    Mick

Mick, thanks. Yeah, I'll come back when its out of beta maybe. For now, I can see that it is not what I imagine it could do after reading the blurb on its intro page.  I don't think my group will use this.
