FAQs

Here are some frequently asked questions about the Logos Bible Software Forums. I will update this post with additional FAQs as necessary.
Why am I sent to Logos.com to log in and edit my profile?
For the sake of simplicity, you will only have one login and password for all of the Logos.com sites. That means if you're logged in to one Logos.com site, you're logged in to all of them. Logos.com is the central place for logging in and editing your profile.
What if I don't want my name and location displayed?
You can create a new Logos.com account with minimal information and log in with that instead of your main Logos.com account connected to your billing and shipping information.
Why do some browsers tell me "Access Denied" when I try to visit the forums?
It has something to do with your cookies. There are a couple of solutions. First, visit Logos.com, sign out (in the top right hand corner), sign back in, and then return to the forums. If that doesn't work, delete any Logos.com cookies, restart your browser, sign in at Logos.com, and then return to the forums. If neither of these resolves your problem, let us know.
I have a suggestion to make the forums better. Where can I send it?
Feel free to start a new thread in the General forum to discuss changes you'd like to see us make. If you want to send your suggestion privately, you can do so by sending an email to forums@logos.com.
Are the Logos Forums a place for general biblical and theological discussions?
No. The purpose of these forums is to discuss Logos Bible Software. There are many other forums better suited for discussing various views on biblical and theological issues. Please take these types of discussions there.

My suggestion is to have a "sticky" Help topic/forum as well as "sticky" FAQ's. The former is needed so we stop guessing what an option means.
"Sticky" means the topics are always displayed on the Home page and cannot be edited, deleted, or allowed contributions from Users!

We'll consider that.

Sticky and Locked are actually two different things in this software. Sticky means it'll stay at the top of the forum, and Locked means that no one can reply to it. As you can see, this current thread is sticky but not locked.

Sticky does not keep it at the top if you change the view to "Last Post Date" - "Ascending"

Not sure what "View" you mean, but FAQs is always at the top of the General forum.

Using the "insert link" button in Firefox does not work. The window opens, enter data, hit Insert, and nothing happens.
It does work in IE.

"View" the way I was using it means "Sorting and Filtering " The FAQ is not always at the top if I use "Last Post Date" - "Ascending". That is why I posted the message.
I read in the news group that you figured out how to make the Forum suit your liking but I don't remember reading how you did it (what settings you used). There dosent seem to be a hole lot of settings that can be adjusted that I have found yet. One thing I realy like is that I can now read the Greak and Hebrew that people paste into their posts

I see, I see... seems like a bug.

how you did itNavigate between Home page and Topic by using multiple Browser tabs ("View link in new tab") OR use of Browser "Back" button, selecting from "Recent Pages" if necessary. Works with Firefox and IE8.
On Home page use the "Unread" filter in combo with "Mark all read" in a forum I'm not interested in!

Phil,
I can not edit my profile. I was able to enter a couple form-fill things like birthdate but "favorites, bio, activities" are not offered. When I click the Profile button nothing happens. When I click the Site button nothing happens. When I click Edit on the top right it changes the screen but still doesn't offer data entry options. I tried editing my profile at Logos.com - nothing. I have signed out & in -nothing.
I run WinXP Pro Media Edition with latest versions of Firefox and Explore. Neither browser makes any differennce. I do have JAVA installed too. What do I do??

Phil, my church web site is http://1stpres.home.bresnan.net/ . My profile will not accept that url as valid (or at least save it anyway, even though it THINKS it isn't valid). Consequently, I'm unable to update that field in my profile. Since the website is provided by my ISP & the only part of the name I can change is the "1stpres", I don't have the ability to change it to much else.
Any hope?
Bill

I have looked at FAQ and dont see this specific question...I have a Ray Stedman commentary on a Libronix file that shows up in my newly installed Logos program. Can I delete the libronix program and have the Stedman commentary still show up and available on Logos? Thanks!

Yes.
If you don't trust Logos, simply rename the Libronix file in Libronix, and re-start Logos. It'll still be on Logos.
