I thought I'd reported this before, but I can't find it anywhere, and it's been driving me nuts lately.

Go into Personal Books tab.

Ctrl+F to Find books matching a particular word

You can't click the Edit link for the first one in the list because it's hidden behind the Find box. But as soon as you dismiss the Find box to get it out of the way, you lose the PB list filtering that it was responsible for.

It makes using the Find command virtually useless. Really, the proper fix for this is to recognize that the Find box is actually acting like a filter box (like the filter box in the Library window) and move it from a drop-down window like it is now to being adjacent to "Add book" on the tool bar. There's all that blank space that isn't being used anyway; there's no need to make the Find box drop down.

You are absolutely right and it ought to be changed.

However, in the meantime, while you can't access the Edit link if you click on the book itself it will open the PB tool editor

OK, that's good to know. I keep forgetting whether clicking on the book will open the book or open it in the editor, so I end up using those tiny little links all the time. I suppose if I would click on the book more often I'd finally remember that it opens it in the editor.

Another problem is that when I filter the PB list using Ctrl+F (Find), the results are always scrolled down by one (whenever there are two or more books in the resulting list), so I can't even see the first match. I have to scroll up first before I can open that one in the editor. That's just as annoying as having the Edit link be covered up (which I admit isn't such a big issue anymore now that I know I can click on the book itself).

This is how my list of Kierkegaard PB's shows up when I filter by his name (notice that Attack upon "Christendom" appears to not be in the list, but if I scroll up it's there):

True - unless you ensure that you are scrolled to the top of the complete list before employing the filter.

Not suggesting this is good or how it should be but at least it is a sort of workaround[:)]

Yeah, but there's still that bug that the list doesn't stay scrolled all the way up to the top even when you force it up there. I reported it a year ago, and it still hasn't been fixed: http://community.logos.com/forums/t/43519.aspx

If I scroll my list up to the top, then employ the "kierkegaard" filter, then hit Escape or click the X to cancel the filter, I'm left looking at the list scrolled down one item.
