Scrolling and Reading Is Slow and Difficult

I'm using a MacBook Pro (2011) with 8 RAM. Just upgraded to Logos 5.

All I am trying to di is read a book and scroll. Skips, jumps, and the Mac rainbow spinning well. A couple of times the program shut down.

I tried to re-install Logos 4 but it said some of my resources would not work if I did that.

Any advise??

Do you know if you have a bunch of open resources set to the same "Link Set", if so disable those to see if that helps.

Michael - See if the advice from Xegesis works. If not, you will likely need to post logs. Out of curiosity, can you verify how many columns you have set? (You will need to double check… "One" is different than "none.")

Michael a link set is where by you can set resources to scroll together as shown in the below screenshot.

You say you just upgraded. Perhaps indexing was still going on? That can make everything else rather unresponsive. Is it better now, or do you still see the same thing?

My scrolling is slow even when I have only the biblical text opened up. As in the only thing on the screen the bible. Why does it skip and low down so much when I scroll. Just work! Ahh, frustrating.

Curious about visual filter settings ? What's checked ?

On a MacBook Pro with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, experienced faster scrolling when Speaker Labels was unchecked.

Personally have visual filter highlighting checked; wiki has => http://wiki.logos.com/Extended_Tips_for_Highlighting_and_Visual_Filters#Examples_of_visual_filters

Caveat: visual filter highlighting can take awhile to initially display, but scrolls responsively on a computer with a 2.3 GHz i7-3610QM CPU, Sata III SSD, dedicated graphics, and 8 GB RAM.
