Greetings,
I just made a book suggestion by sending an email to suggest@logos.com ("Chronological Aspects of the Life of Christ" by Harold W. Hoehner). After submitting the email I received a "confirmation" email. But that is (apparently) as far as it goes. As it stands now, we have NO IDEA if a title was approved, denied, unavailable (license restrictions, etc.) . Consequently, without appropriate feedback, one might (out of frustration) repeat the request of that same title.
IMHO, we need more feedback on book requests than just a confirmation of receipt of the email.
It would be really useful if ....
- There were some web-based interface
- wherein I could recommend a title and...
- others could see the recommendation and...
- Up-vote the recommendation such that...
- Logos can gauge the community interest in the title and ...
- Based on interest add the title to prepub.
- If interest is high, logos could post a "status" message indicating that the title is (for example "Under Review", or "adding to prepub"), such that...
- Members would know that the book was added and if not, why not.
This would eliminate duplicate requests and provide (much) more relevant feedback on book suggestions.
My $0.02.
