New user stuck in library

I am a new user using iPad and I seem to be stuck in the library.  How can I return to the home screen?

    Not sure exactly what you mean - normally when one is looking at the library one is on the home screen.

    But there is always a button at the top left - shown in red below - that should move you from the home screen back to reading view or vice versa (when in reading view it is reduced but still there and pressing on it will open up a panel including a "home" button)
