Baker Academic Biblical Studies Bundle (86 Vols) Any Thoughts?

Hi Friends, I have portfolio with Logos 5. I am considering to order "Baker Academic Biblical Studies Bundle (86 Vols)" in Pre-pub.
Any advice, comments please ?
Thanks

I treated this just like I would when buying a base package. I figured up how many books that I would actually want, and then figured up the cost from Amazon, and that told me if it was worth it or not. I actually got in when it was originally on pre-pub for $999.99, so I don't know if I would have paid the current price. I am actually not positive that I will get it in the end anyway.

As Joseph mentions, it depends on what you have and what you need. The collection, of course, is a collection of collections. So you also have the choice of not buying all of them but rather concentrating in the areas that you wish to expand.
Others will have good advice, but scanning through the authors (and of course 'Baker'), the flavor will tend a bit towards the conservative side of perspectives, but good quality of authorship. I have several, independent of Logos.

Thank you friends.

Wow. that is a big price increase from $ 999.00 to $ 1349.95.
Amazing. It is a big jump even when the collection is still in Pre-Pub. Thanks

And watch it jump again when it is released

If you do decide to get it, call customer sales instead of ordering online. Sometimes they can get you a better deal than what is posted on the website.

Does anyone know which book was removed from this set? It now only has 85 volumes. I pre-ordered it but haven't heard anything from Logos saying that it has changed but I noticed today that the price in my order history is different and there we go.

They removed Luke: Storyteller, Interpreter, Evangelist on April 26th.

Thanks David! Did you get an email or how did you find out?

I received an email, which I'm sure they intended to send to everyone who had ordered before that date.

Well I guess mine got lost in the mail. I've received them in the past for community pricing collections when they've removed books but I'm pretty sure I didn't get one this time.

The problem with that plan is Sales can't drop the price on a Pre-Pub. The price will go up higher on ship date. So calling after ship date will not get a better price than Pre-Pub.
I am afraid this is another situation like the Zondervan Bundles. That is, you buy it in Pre-Pub or else you can't afford to ever get it.
I hope Logos gives us extreme advance warning of the ship date. ~ Like 3 months or so. I would hate to spend my pennies on other Pre-Pubs and miss out on the bundle
fwiw: Buying all the collections separately costs about $140 more than the Bundle. If it contains one expensive "useless" (to you) collection it is cheaper to go individually.
Any chance of getting the Pre-Pub price back down to $999?

I'm sticking my neck out for this based on the quality of the material and not a little of it is right in my areas of interest. Technically it's a bit less than $16 a volume so that's viable. Not a first must have, but a strong second.

Unfortunately, it does not work with this resource. I had intended to place the order when it was $999, but then I spent a month in hospital not sure if I survive. During this month, the price went up. Just a few days after the price increase, I contacted sales and even mentioned my situation to them. Their answer was: "Sorry, we cannot do it." At the current price, I won't order it.

If I could afford it, I would buy. However, I can't so I won't. There are really some great scholarly works in this collection.
Really it comes down to what resources one would use and what resources one can afford. Often the two criteria are in conflict.

I am hoping against hope to get it. It will kill many Pre-Pubs I want and I still may not get it.
