questions re resources

1. after updating to L4, am i right that this puts a full set of resources in 4's location, and leaves my old full set in Lib3's location?

2. if so, why wouldn't i delete Lib3's? and if i wanted to use Lib3 for anything, couldn't i just point the program to the resource location for L4?

3. i seem to be missing NA27GBS in the L4 resource directory. What's up with that? how many other third party resources just didn't make the cut? can i just manually copy the file over?

Because v3 cannot read v4 files (ending .logos4). They are gradually updating all the files to .logos4.

Can't help on the missing file thing but copying a resource over will not affect the program. There is a scan command. Type in the command bar "Scan c:\paqth\to\v3resources" close and restart the program and it will search the designated directory for any files.

Most importantly, is your v3 license properly synced with Logos HQ?

Answers to your questions:

1. Yes, you're right.

2. Yes, you can do that. However, as new L3 resources get updated/replaced with L4 resources, eventually there will be some resources you will not be access to do with L3 (unless you reinstall them from the L3 disks).

3. If you have it in L3, you can get it into L4 by typing this command in the command bar: scan c:\Program Files\Libronix DLS\Resources (assumes a default installation). This would be a better option than merely copying the file over, since this command tells Logos4 to index the file and put it in your library. Another option you may have is to try to find the NA27GBS by typing in it's Logos resource ID into the Logos 4 command bar. I don't recognize the resource by your initials, so I'm not sure which NA27 this might be. But any resource that Libronix can read Logos4 should be able to read (except Libronix video files).

regardingNA27GBS--it's the one by the German Bible Society that has the critical marks embedded in the text. it should have synced. i'll double check whether Lib3 is synced with Logos' website. otherwise i'll do the scan command.

hmmm. i verified that the file exists in the Lib3 directory; i did the scan command; the little sync icon at the right side of toolbar revolved; then it said everything was updated. i exited the program and restarted; the resource does not show in L4.

i found my resource...in the hidden resources. i must have accidentally grabbed it thinking it was something else.
