Is there any way to determine which saved layout is the active one? It would be nice if that were displayed in the ribbon.
Soli Deo Gloria,
Randy
Next Major update - is now in Beta
This should be interesting. Is it limited to L5 or across the board to L4 as well?
Found on Home>Logos Desktop Beta
Logos 5.0b RC 2
Layouts (windows)
Fixed bug which prevented active layout title from displaying when opening program to most recent layout.
Logos 4.6b RC 2
Did not find layouts in the release notes
But I have already gotten into trouble today for being on the wrong forum

The "active layout" feature is only in Logos 5.0b. This will be available for download from http://www.logos.com/downloads as soon as 5.0b is released (probably within a few days).

Thanks. but i dunt run 'beta's' anymore. Is this a feature up and coming for user's L4/L5 - ?
The only thing not clear from the above is that the downloads page says "Download the powerful Logos 4 engine for PC or Mac" but the actual links are those for stable L5.

Logos 5.0b (which is a stable version, not a beta) will probably be released within a few days; the "active layout" feature will be in that version. There will not be a similar feature available in Logos 4.
Thanks for pointing out the typo; we'll get that corrected.
How do you turn it on again if you have turned it off?
Hi Mark
Sorry but to what are you referring?
Graham
I turned off Active layout.....want to turn it on again
I turned off the active layout but would like to turn it on again.....
The "active layout" capability is a feature of 5.0b - still not really sure what you mean when you say you want to turn it off
You can control what is loaded at startup through Program Settings as shown:
The top four options are "built in" - the remainder are layouts I have created.
I too don't quite understand Mark's turning active-layout off/on. But I was looking at the problem from a new user point of view (sort of anyway).
* If you start from the home page, you don't have an 'active layout' (no title at the top). One has a 'layout' (in Logos-talk). And if you work with the home page, you'll never see an 'active layout'
* Similarly if you start with a blank screen, you don't have an 'active layout', even though of course you do have a literal active layout
* If you go to the Layout panel and click on an earlier layout (closed, snapshot, etc), again you don't have an 'active layout' even though again you have an active layout
* And again, if you go the Layout panel, there's actually no clue that there are any 'active layouts' (other than deleting the mysterious 'active layout').
* You CAN however 'name' a layout (which mysteriously becomes an 'active layout' but not actually identified as such.
* Lastly, if you accidentally notice 'Delete an active layout', it's greyed out (logically) and provides no further assistance concerning the mystery.
It's only when one 'names' a layout in the layout panel (not 'save' mind you; this is Logosland), do you achieve 'an active layout'. Of course, it's not identified as such. This not the same as calling on the 'name' of God (being the active god at that location, in early semitic parlance of course).
Intuitiveness is just not in the Logosian bloodline.
EDIT: I still do the right-click update on 'saved' layouts; I don't trust the new one yet. There were WAY too many errors in the code from beta to gold. So far, maybe ok.
