Logos crash just after start up (Mountain Lion)

Hello,

never posted in forums before, but I was wondering if anyone has had this problem. Just started today, won't load the start screen, and when I enter a passage it will begin to load the passage guide but then crash. Really not sure what to do. Thanks to anyone who has a clue. :-)

Welcome to the forums! Sorry you are having troubles. [:S]

The simple fix: try opening to a blank layout. Press and hold the command key immediately upon startup and then check the appropriate box. If that doesn't work, you will likely need to enable and post logs. http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging#Mac

The startup never finishes. The homepage never fully loads. Perhaps this is why the command key did not work? I think I enabled logging. Not sure where to go from here. Thanks again.

May need to change Energy Saver settings so computer never sleeps when connected to power source. If indexing is interrupted, Logos starts over.

Perhaps this is why the command key did not work?

Crash and Log files are written to ~/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Logging folder (~ is your personal home directory).

By default, OS X Mountain Lion hides ~/Library folder, with many ways to see contents => http://www.macworld.com/article/161156/2011/07/view_library_folder_in_lion.html and can assign keyboard shortcut => http://mac.finerthingsin.com/post/7849528212/lion-library-folder-visible

Forum editor has a paper clip for attaching file.

it did. I opened a blank layout, but when i attempted to open a guide it crashed.

This indicates that one of your files has become corrupted but doesn't (at least to me) say which.

There should also be a logos4.log file - can you post that as well, please?

I concur. Logos is going to have to figure this one out. If you can do so, you should give Logos a call.

Bill's index was bad.

Please use this information with caution.

A lot of times, not ALL the time, the "SearchEngine" phrase in the stack trace means there is something wrong with the indexer. That could be a bad indexer or something else preventing the indexer from running properly. Tech will usually move the index folders to the Desktop if we think the issue is with the indexer. That way if the indexer continues to crash we can put it back.

After confirming Logos is not running we move or rename the BibleIndex, LibraryIndex, and PersonalIndex folders, and restart Logos. No commands needed.
