Scripture Quotes

I would like to see LOGOS have the ability to quote the scripture reference prior to the scripture; just having a citation does not aid me in my classroom or preaching presentations. Does anyone else feel this way; or does anyone know of a way to have LOGOS perform this function?

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking for. Is this in the Copy Bible Verse feature, the way hover works, or something else? Please clarify.

The way that I read this.......we might see

16. for God so loved the world........ then at the footnote it says NiV Jn 3 16 etc.....

It seems like he would like a way to have John 3.16 and For God so loved......etc in the text....First....

Yes, I would like to see the scripture quote prior to the verses, i.e., John 3:16-17, then the scripture, for example. As it is now, I use this type of procedure in my classes and have to use other Bible programs that offer that scenario. In logos, it could be in the program settings and you could shut it on or off, and still keep the citations as required by the publishers - I just need a way to have the verse(s) quoted first then the scripture.

To be clear, what you are talking about is having this function appear in resources one accesses in Logos. Is that right?

Do you mean something like this:

ESV | ‎Jn 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Turn on text comparison. New problem: It puts the verse number before the verse and not at the start when listing multi verses

NABRE | ‎Jn 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life. ‎17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.

But the header reads John 3:16–17 if you are willing to do an extra copy and paste

In a copy and paste scenario, just use an appropriate style in Tools > Copy Bible Verses eg.

Psalm 51:1 (ESV)

            1       wHave mercy on me,1 O God,
      according to your steadfast love;
                  according to your xabundant mercy
      yblot out my transgressions. 1

Thanks David and Dave, that is what I was looking for (in one instance and that would work); but it would be great to see if you 'copied' and 'pasted' from a translation that it would do the same. Just a thought. Anyway, thanks for the help.
