Should close all close the home page?
No. When I invoke the command, the home page remains up.
Not what is does but what it should be doing?
But at least it is not just picking on me.
No. The 'close all' command will close all open panels. The home page isn't considered a 'panel', per se, so that command will not affect its closed/opened state.
