"Partner" Offers

Got an email today from "The Hub" and saw that they used my Logos email address. Was none too pleased.

Looked in my account email preferences and noticed that I was signed up for "Partner Offers". I don't think I would have knowingly done that. Is there a way to agree to this without having checked the box (e.g. through promotional entries)? Did Logos add this recently and make it a default opt-in?

I don't know but looking at my own settings, Logos has clearly redone these settings recently based on the denominational switches and the Noet entries. It appears that they tried to map my prior preferences to the new scheme. In my case, they came very close - I added 2 and deleted 3. All that I changed were reasonable assumptions on Logos' part.

If they made an announcement in the forums, I missed it 'cause I rarely read the web site forum.

Yep regarding accidentally signing up to partner offers. This has been earlier discussed, especially when you set your account to absolutely no emails and Logos threatens to withhold changes (the threat being instantly forgotten later on these partner check-off offers).  I noticed the last one during the L5 rollout.

Also sometimes they update the email checkoff page with new categories and of course the default be 'yes please!'
