Someone please HELP! Logos not working properly!

I previously posted but no one responded and I desperately need my computer, as I am working on a major teaching assignment on Ezekiwl 28.

I've had Logos 5...ran the lastest update yesterday, but something apparently was corrupted, as it has "taken over my computer" and running things so sluggishly. It says that Logos is indexing (yes, I know what that means...been here from the beginning of indexing! Smile )...but it never indexes and stays at 0 %....I have restarted my computer about 6 times but it will never begin the indexing process...it just says that it is indexing but it never does. I have paused indexing, but that is not going to fix the problem.

Can someone please tell me what to do? Do I need to reinstall the latest update? If so, how would I "delete" the previous update? PLEASE PLEASE!!!!

My operating system is Windows 7, so it is not the "Windows 8" problem.

Please help me get out of the "Twilight Zone" of the "endless loop of indexing"!

Sorry Charlene for your troubles. First try running the update file manually which is found here:http://community.logos.com/forums/t/66235.aspx

1. Go to control panel.

2. Choose programs.

3. Uninstall a program.

4. Left clik on the program once.

5. At the top of the control panel box, choose repair.

If that does not work, then you can reinstall the program using the steps here. http://wiki.logos.com/Quick_Installation_onto_multiple_computers#Method_3

You may need to unhide hidden files on your computer to see the folder.

Thanks, Lynden, for the suggestions. The first one (Repair) didn't do anything.

Haven't attempted the 2nd one yet, as I was hoping to avoid all the reinstallation, etc....but may have to do that....

Do you (or anyone else) know where I can delete the indexing file that is there now, so that it will just "reindex" ...then hopefully after a few hours it will be a done deal!

You can try googling the wiki to find out where the indexing file is. Not sure.

They are located at C:\Users\Charlene\AppData\Local\Logos4\Data\ozvyy4df.43o. Delete the LibraryIndex and BibleIndex folders but start Logos with CTRL key held so we can get some logs. If it crashes upload LogosIndexer.log and Logos.log. For more info see http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging

Dave, I can't delete those directories. It says those directories are "in use."

Ignore last comment. I figured it out by going to control panel and stopping the Logos 4 indexing process, so I got the directories deleted. Have started Logos with CTRL button held. The icon in the task bar says Logos is indexing. Will let you know if this worked or not. THANKS!

I have to say, Lynden, I really don't like Biblia.com....it is too slow and cumbersome for me....and plus I need to do more than "just assess" my resources, with searches, word studies, etc.

Thanks, Dave, for the help! It seems like the deletion of those files was the solution. It is now indexing..... SLOWLY indexing, but at least it is indexing properly now....it is up to 30%!

Only now! I let it run all night thinking that that would take care of it and it still was only at 94 (96?)% when I got up this morning! I was shocked. This was a reminder of how it was at the beginning of indexing.

Anyway, it finally is "back to normal". Thanks so much for your help.
