How to remove dark lines on scroll bar for Logos 5 Windows (Tim Keller)?

Hi!

Brand new, so please forgive the software ignorance

Just started playing around with Logos 5 and the Tim Keller Sermon transcripts, and there are marker little lines that have been appearing on the scroll bar that weren't previously there before. How can I remove those lines? I don't think I saved that spot to a favorites or anything, but obviously I did something.

I appreciate your help!

Those lines are automatically generated as you view the book… I honestly can't remember if/how you can remove them… maybe someone else can help you out… but I wanted you to know that you didn't "do anything" to make them appear.

Found it. Turn "Show auto and favorite bookmarks" off under program settings. I don't know if you can reset them or not.

They can be generated by searches and bookmarks and are controlled by Program Settings -

Show auto and favorite bookmarks

Show search bookmarks

After changing the settings you may need to complete their removal by running a search on another resource.

The lines are caused by two things:

if you have a search window open, they mark the location of search results ("search bookmarks")
they also mark the parts of a book you have visited ("auto bookmarks")

You can turn either one off in the Program Settings:

I understand someone in Bellingham has put out a reward for information on how to 'erase' the bookmarks.

The reward was offered in late 2009, I think by the person who wrote the Logos help text.

As far as I know, no one has successfully claimed the reward. One person almost ruined their monitor.

No matter how hard I tried, the eraser didn't work. Now I have a pencil without an eraser, and a monitor with a pink/grey swath. [:)]
