I've been looking at buying logos 5, but it says 10.6 is required to run it. I have tried checking for updates (mine is 10.5.8) but it says there is nothing new to update to, so what should I do?
Welcome to the forums!
The latest version of the Mac operating system is 10.8. What are your computer specs? FYI - updates in the third decimal spot are free... You have to pay for the other updates (I.e. 10.6 [snow leopard], 10.7 [lion], 10.8 [mountain lion]). When you look for updates and none are available, it means none are available for 10.5 [leopard].
If you have any confusion about which update to purchase (note: 10.6 is required to go to either 10.7 or 10.8, but I think Apple has discounts for people in your situation (after checking the DVD has been reduced to $20) you should call Apple. From there you can upgrade to 10.7 or 10.8… if you have any really old software that is using the rosetta interpolation layer you will want to stop at 10.6. There is no compatibility for any PPC based software in the Lions, but unless you are a long time mac user there is a good chance you don't have any software to worry about. I would try calling apple and tell them the information under the Apple Menus about this mac, and the will advise you as to which OS will work best for you.
