So what did you guys do with the char palette??

While waiting for Logos to finish indexing (a6), I worked on some graphic design (in fact a new icon for LogosMac) and needed the system char palette. It came up, but never stopped spinning and hiding and showing every time I clicked on the menubar or some mouse event. I had to hide the palette and restart my macmini. Now, i cant use the char palette anymore. What gives! Please restore the palette. Thank you. And yes, I never had this problem until I installed a6.

Btw, whats with the increasing and decreasing times for doing the indexing. Is it not suppose to go down to 0??

I don't know about the color palette, but I can say that the time estimate for indexing has not been optimized for the Mac system, so those times will be off for now.

More specifically, the time estimate is calculated using a formula based on how long it has taken to index the resources that it has already processed which weights the most-recently-indexed resources more highly than those indexed a while ago. As such, when re-calculating after it has indexed a resource that takes a while (e.g. a Bible with an accompanying reverse interlinear), the total time may increase.

This is, in some sense, comparable to the time remaining estimate on a download increasing if the transfer rate on your Internet connection changes during a large download. The total amount of work remaining has been reduced but based on the latest info, the estimate for how much longer the remaining work will take has grown accordingly.

As Joe points out though, the estimates are imperfect. Indexing speed is affected by a number of factors, not the least of which are the computing resources available. If you're doing CPU or RAM intensive work while Logos 4 is indexing, you're competing for resources, which will certainly affect indexing speed.

We'll look into it. We're not doing anything deliberate to alter the palette or its behavior.

Thanks. It was very weird and annoying. Now that indexing is done, I will try to use the char palette again. Nope, char palette is still wonky. Sigh. Now am worried.

btw, where can I post the attachment of my icon and request donation-ware for my effort (I am a disabled person on very limited income and need help buying logos books). Thanks.

Oh, character palette instead of color palette. That is a whole different story... I am still clueless [:$]
