I just downloaded Logos 5 and have tried to find videos which will help me learn the basics but all I get is more advanced videos. Where can I find step by step videos to help me learn how to navigate through the program?

You're posting an L5 question in the L4 forum, which sounds like you're an L4 user who've just upgraded and only want to learn about the new L5 features. But then you ask about "the basics" and "how to navigate through the program", which sounds more like you're a completely new user altogether. So it's a bit hard to know what to direct you to.
If you are indeed a completely new user, the videos at http://www.logosbiblesoftwaretraining.com/videos/ are by far the best. They're for L4 and Windows, but almost everything will be the same. The main exceptions would be the installation one, which I presume you don't need anyway, and the one on Bible Facts, which has changed quite a bit in L5, so you might want to wait a bit with that one.
The video Anon linked to then gives a quick overview of the changes and additions in L5. When the first set of videos don't look like what you see on your screen, you can probably find the explanation in that one.
As a general rule, Ctrl on Windows is almost always Cmd on Mac.
