Computer resources

I recently purchased L5 and like it. Lots to learn BUT I have noticed (on my Mac) alot of more spinning beach balls than on L4. Does L5 take significantly more computer resources? I don't run loads of concurrent progs when running L5. I have a 2008 vintage iMac ... 4G 667MHz SDRam, 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo. Not latest spec obviously but not too shabby.

Has it finished indexing? Most Mac users report increased speed with L5 over L4. I have a 2005 Mac Pro and have very few beach balls (2 x 2.66 Dual core Intel Xeon processors with 11GB RAM).

If this sluggishness continues, logs will be required to provide assistance.

If logging is needed.

The most convenient way to enable logging is to use the Applescript LogosLogging by KS4J. (Restart of Logos needed after enabling)

Then use Logos Log Scribe to create an archive of the logs on your desktop.

Use the paperclip on the message prep window to attach.

Yes. I had 4GB on my MacBook & iMac and upgraded to 8. Another thing to keep an eye out for... An SSD HD will give you dramatically better performance than a standard HDD, since there are no moving parts.

I am considering upgrading to an SSD. I currently have 16GB RAM on a Macbook Pro (late 2011) and a 7200 hard disk. Can you be specific on what speed increases you would see with an SSD and what areas you would not. I understand that activities related to disk access would be increased, but it is hard for me to know what that really looks like in real life application. For example, I'm assuming searching and resource opening would be faster, but what about scrolling, taking notes, highlighting, home page access, general navigation, virtual filters, etc. If you could speak to any of those, I would really appreciate it.
