I couldn't find a specific reference to this bug but when using notes Logos 4 is very slow in displaying the typed notes for any reference and will regularly jump out of the text entry box to a different location within the notes file.  At first I suspected I was inadvertantly touching the touch-pad on my laptop, causing the cursor to relocate within the window but after diabling the touch-pad it became cleat that this is a bug within the program.

I regularly use the notes section to annotate and organize references for papers and lessons and this bug makes notes in Logos 4 essentially unuseable; often most of my annotation is lost due to Logos 4 randomly "jumping" out of the text entry box.  I've been trying to avoid reverting to Logos 3 to get comfortable with Logos 4 but the continuing sluggishness of the application coupled with the bugginess make it likely this will be the last major research project I attempt using Logos 4; I simply don't have the time to play with a product that (despite the advertising) is unfinished.  I appreciate the new resources (and that they're largely available in Logos 3) but I'm unlikely to jump on any Logos "upgrade" in the future.

This is a known issue, and I just answered someone else's query about this on this forum. I find the problem intermittently on my machine, though recently it's better than it has been. I don't know if that's because I'm running Beta3 of 4.0a, or because of some other reason.

I can say that some on this forum report better performance by turning off "Use Internet" (restart), by turning off some anti-spyware background tasks, and by turning off "Tablet PC Input Services" under Services. One person recently reported that by reducing the number of resources that are open, his experience of the notes feature improved dramatically. Others report that doing these things doesn't help at all.

You are correct to put "BUG" in the subject line, and that will draw the attention of Logos' programmers to the issue. Know that even if they don't respond here, they will see your post.

We are confident, based on the quality of the company and the character of it's employees, that this problem will be addressed.

In the meantime, if none of the above remedies work, and for extensive note taking, you may wish to either revert to Logos3, or use another program to make your notes. Copy/paste from other programs into L4 Notes does work, if it's important to have your annotations in your text.
