Separate titles for the most expensive commentary series available?

Logos.com has a great collection of the finest biblical resources ever made. However it's a pity that the most professional commentaries are beyond my reach. I'd really like to buy the gospel commentaries of the Anchor Bible series if I could buy them separately. But as long as the only option is to buy the whole commentary series for $1,899.95 I'm afraid it won't happen. Ever.

So, what's your policy? Is it possible that in future this and a few other most professional (and expensive) commentary series could be split so that your average pastor could afford them? :-)

Hi Ville, and welcome to the forums!!  No doubt 'Logos' would need to answer your question directly.

But in the specific example you give, I'd give strong odds, the issue isn't Logos; it's the publisher. That's a guess. When I was considering buying it, I checked Amazon, various bookstores and of course other Bible software companies. I was surprised at the time the AYB on Logos is somewhat unique (all 88 books I think), and a significant discount relative to singles elsewhere.  I'd bet Logos is holding on to an older contract with good terms.

For example, Hermeneia is a unbreakable package with upgrades; WBC is broken out. So it's very likely a publisher issue.

That said, AYB is worth it; volumes are in-depth, most very professional, but some idiocentric and positively nutty. Have you considered chatting with Logos concerning a longer-term payplan?
