New feature (???): Indexing, offline searching

I searched (best I could - see my new post in the web site forum) for threads on this as well as glancing at the recent release notes. I didn't see details about this.

On my iPad Logos app this morning, when I got to the "Home" screen, there was a progress bar with the description "Indexing." After about 2 minutes, it had completed. I definitely had not seen that before. So I turned my wifi off (it's a wifi-only iPad 2) and did a Bible search in the ESV and a Basic search across recent documentes. Both of them returned results (accurate, no less!).

Has offline searching, supported by on-device indexing, been added to the app? If so, I assume this only works for downloaded resources? Is there any documentation about using this feature and how it is all managed (index updates with new downloaded resources, data usage implications - if any, etc.)?

Thanks,

Donnie

I'm glad you mentioned this Donnie. I, too, have noticed the "indexing" in both the Logos and Vyrso app on my iPad. What's the deal?   [:O]

    Bump.

Could someone from Logos comment on this? Or point me to release notes I missed which describe this?

    Thanks,

    Donnie

    Hi Donnie,

When you see this happen the Library Catalog is being indexed to allow for faster access to the library.  This indexing doesn't change or effect searching within resources or offline searching; it only concerns the Library Catalog.
