Prioritize

I have just updated to logos 5 platinum and him feeling somewhat overwhelmed by the resources. I have already prioritized my top Bible's but I am looking for the best commentary series to prioritize as well as lexicons dictionaries ETCs. Any help that you can provide for me to be greatly appreciated thank you.

NAC would be good starting point as is an intermediate commentary.

There are different types of commentary

1) Technical/ exegetical for detail word, grammar etc

2) Semi technical /expository (Intermediate) Good all round commentary

3) Homelitic (helpful for preparing sermons etc), Application

4) Devotional

5) Study Bibles or Concise 1 or 2 volume commentaries

Some commentaries are verse by verse, passage by passage, section by section.

You need to catergorize your commentaries, I use tags to do this. This helps you filter them in the passage guide or even create new guides for that particular type of commentary.

Collections will be your key to organising your Library for searches and Guides. The wiki article on Collections includes a side panel (RHS) of links to example collections. Assuming you will use those collections in the Commentaries section of a Passage Guide (PG) you need to Prioritize the top five (5) or six (6) commentaries in each collection because up to 6 are immediately displayed in PG. If you do it that way you will quickly get to know the commentaries you prefer and make changes to Prioritization.

This wiki on Prioritization will show you how to recognize and Prioritize lexicons, dictionaries (Encyclopedia in Logos terminology). You need to prioritize Greek/Hebrew bibles in addition to your Top (English) Bibles.

Be careful to prioritize your English bibles above Greek/Hebrew bibles and commentaries.
