Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get the ACCS for logos? I know that used to sell it but I can't find it when I search the products. If I was to buy the cd rom from amazo is there a way to use it in logos 5?
Thanks
Yes, you can use the CD in Logos 4 or 5. Installation requires a few extra steps: http://wiki.logos.com/Installing_Libronix_Books
That is great! Thank you Mark.
Barry - make sure anything you purchase is Logos/Libronix and not in another format.
I think I recall there were two other Caveats re ACCS:
Caveat also (as mentioned by others) that there were ACCS CDs released for different non-Logos software which you will NOT be able to transfer to Logos 5
Why in the world is this great commentary set no longer being sold by Logos? Is there a problem between Intervarsity and Logos?
Thanks for the replies and advice everyone. This is the cd that I am going to buy. Will this one from Amazon work on Logos 5?
No idea why it is not available. Aren't the IVP dictionaries still being sold by Logos? I would imagine the ACC's "problem", if any, is just with the specific resource. Hopefully it will return to the Logos website soon.
There were some other works in the pipeline by the same editor that I would also buy in Logos.
Maybe IVP was listening to Michael and they printed up 100,000 CD sets. And Logos is trying to help them re-coup? I was (very) likely wrong about my previous guess; maybe this one too?
But in support of my crazy idea, Amazon DOES always confidently say 'More where these came from (wink, wink)!'
These are for the Complete ACCS Commentary.
Will this one from Amazon work on Logos 5? Difficult to say if the Amazon UK one would be good with Logos 5 as the description of the item for sale is far from detailled and complete.

The cover image clearly says Libronix, so it should work.
I would tend to be a little insecure relying only on the illustration of the cover image as it may have been copied from elsewhere and is not backed up by a more detailed description on the Amazon page itself.
A link to the publishers web page on this CD (Windows version) http://www.ivpress.com/cgi-ivpress/book.pl/code=2480 (note their Mac version is for Accordance NOT Logos)

Thanks David. The one on Amazon Uk has the same ISBN number as the one on Christianbook.com so it must be the same one. Thanks

Hi Barry,
I am very interested in this set and thus I have put in quite some time investigating the various issues with this work. My best advice to you is if it is at all possible watch and wait. Once you have pondered all the advice you have been given thus far track the price carefully and take the plunge at your most desirable level.
CBD had this set at a great discount. If I recall it was somewhere around $216.00 USD around the end of the year. This is the best price I've seen thus far. So, slow and steady wins this race.
Godspeed to you
Thank you for taking the time to respond and for the great advice. I have found somewhere selling it for 162 pounds which is about 250 USD. I'm happy anough with that price and I am going to purchase it tomorrow. [:D]
£162 Sounds like a much better price that the original £248 option and much more aligned with the price on the other side of the water....
For those who currently own the set, are these volumes available on iOS devices?
YES the ACCSS series is mobile compatible.

Confused... [*-)] (not difficult to do)
The ACCS when offered on CD was 30 volumes including the 29 commentaries currently offered PLUS an IVP volume called "Introduction and Biographical Information". Has this 30th volume been dropped ?
Peace, David!
I purchased ACCS from Logos(!) in October 2010
My library has 30 volumes ...l
Has this 30th volume been dropped ?
The 30th volume was produced as an efficiency to remove the same material that appeared in the front of all 29 volumes in the print edition. Perhaps this was done to fit all the volumes on one CD?
I'll surmise that either the new edition puts that material back in its original place or you will get that 30th volume.
Some of us have 32 too… the original mark and romans as well...
This is by far one of the series I've been waiting for Logos to offer. Now only if I had some dough...
One great thing about being back on Logos here is it is now the same price as the best price I have seen for the CDROM…. Great for Logos bringing it back and matching the price found elsewhere.
From what I can see, it's the exact same price now that I payed Logos 2,5 years ago.
The CD, on the other hand, I'm pretty sure I've seen for less.
It was less but that was through the company recently discussed in the Forums that has since gone out of business (and wasn't the new revised edition). I think I paid $249 for it when it first came out.
I have the cd's from the now defunct software vendor which was the 30 volume package but it has the second editions of Mark and Romans so I do not see any difference (apart from the extra introductory volume) between the later retail CD version (which presumably I have) and the Logos download.

In another thread on this topic we learned that about 2% of the material has been removed and replaced. So you have, as most of the rest of us who already own this have, 98% of the 'new' set. Those who have the old set are supposed to get the new one at no charge.

I think I saw it for less on IVP's own website.
My memory may be faulty. It was definitely more on the IVP site than where I purchased it when I did.
I am so glad that it is back in Logos. Dennis, thanks for pointing this out. Not that I don't already have it, but I think it is a true treasure. I hate for anyone to miss it.
The link that you gave didn't seem to work for me, but I searched for the Ancient Christian Commentary at Logos dot com, and it is definitely back.

Just to be clear: I didn't mean "less than what you paid", only "less than what Logos now charges". I think it was more than you paid, but less than $300.
Logos price is identical to the price of the CDROM on Christian Book Distributors now. And Amazon's price for the CDROM is higher. I know CBD had the lowest price at one point. I am not sure if they were forced to increase their price, but all I know is Logos price is now identical. And the whole issue i had before is Logos should be able to have as low or a lower price.
I hope we will someday see the Doctrine series and the books from the Center for Early African Christianity.
I purchased the InterVarsity Press CD containing 14 volumes of the ACC some years ago (as Mr. Wilson mentioned, these were the print titles published at that time). Now I see that the entire set is available on Logos. In order to get the volumes that were not available on the original CD, must I purchase the full set (including duplications of those volumes I already own) or is there a way to purchase just the volumes that were not available on the original CD?
When the set was complete there was an upgrade price offered, I am not sure if it still can be "upgraded to the complete set" If it can the sales staff at Logos will be the people that can make it happen. Typically what happens when you have part of a series you do get credit for the ones owned, this can happen somewhat automatically through the computer system but is best handled by an actual person. Good luck and God Bless.
Thank you very much! I will contact the sales staff. They are always helpful!
