Faithlife notes in 4

I lost all my Faithlife notes in version 4 after last update. Does that mean I need to move to version 5 to get them?

Most probably not. Logos 5 is much like an incremental update to L4, i.e. what you don't see in 4 will most probably not be in 5. But maybe we can help you here in the forum. Can you be more specific about what you lost - the Logos-compiled FSB study bible notes, or your own notes that you made locally (in the Faitjhlife app or in L4) & attached to the FSB or not, or the Faithlife Community Notes, attached to e.g. a group taht was deleted by its admin? What version are you running onwhich platform?Have joy in the Lord!

I had all their photos, articles and other things that came up on my home page. The content on my homepage went from 3 to 1 page.

I still have the Faithlife Bible but when 4.6b SR-1 took place my homepage changed and deleted content on it.

Ah... now I see. The homepage is dynamic on purpose, and you could make it reload by hitting F5 or Ctrl-F5. Usually (i.e. for people with large libraries) it will show photos/pictures from a variety of resources, and multiple daily devotionals, and recent changes to the various resources one owns or buys. Basically, it's not intended as a permanent repository of linkks to faithlife bible stuff. You may use favorites or even shortcut buttons instead, or access the FSB resources from search or the library.Have joy in the Lord!

So that wouldn't change by going to 5? Thought maybe they were using it as a hook in.

No. There are lots of reasons to go to L5 (and just going there is free, by the way), but AFAIK the home page will work exatly the same.

I was looking at doing that but it looked like I would loose some functions I have in 4 if I go to the free 5. the only possibilities I saw was core data set for $80 or minimal crossgrade for $134. How do you get the free? I went from 3 to 4 for free does that effect the new upgrade?

what functions did you think you would lose?

the free engine is available at http://www.logos.com/installation

it shouldn't affect the free upgrade but you don't get access to some of the new features in L5 unless you go with - at least - one of the two options (core datasets or minimal crossgrade) you mentioned above.
It sounds, further, as though you don't have an L4 base package so to get the full capability of these crossgrades you would need the L4 minimal crossgrade as well (http://www.logos.com/product/28576/logos-4-minimal-crossgrade)
But that is if you wish to get the extra features - you can upgrade to L5 for free using the first link above and I can't think of any functionality you would lose in doing so.

No you won't. Which features you are worried about?

This would mean that you don't have the features in the L4 Minimal Crossgrade, such as Reverse Interlinears and Parallel Passages? Probably if you don't need these, you won't need the database driven features of an L5 Crossgrade either.

Check out http://www.logos.com/support/logos5/windows/install where you'll find instructions and a link to the installer
The benefits of the Core Datasets and the Minimal Crossgrade are in database-driven features that mostly help exegesis of the Greek/Hebrew text or quickstarting a sermon. Maybe the best way is to watch some of the Logos-supplied or user-created videos to see the various features working and decide whether this is something you need or not. The wiki is a great place to check for these (and lots of other help) - start perhaps here: http://wiki.logos.com/Logos_5_Video_Tutorials
This wiki page may give you an overview of the features you can expect from the free engine: http://wiki.logos.com/Upgrade_or_Crossgrade
Hope this helps

Thank you. I looked on the upper part of 4 and it had layouts. I picked the one from Tuesday which had all of the home page stuff I was missing and it had application closed under the screen. I remember something about Fatihlife free for a year. I am wondering if it was a subscription that they tried. I never saw anything about renewal.

Good that it was saved! Maybe you want to give it a name (i.e. save it as a "named layout") to keep it from being overwritten.Roger Chaney said:I remember something about Fatihlife free for a year. I am wondering if it was a subscription that they tried. I never saw anything about renewal.
I think it originally was free for up to March 2014 but it seems Logos axed the subscription model for FSB - I'd assume it's yours for life now, but you could make sure and try buying one of the 2.5 million unlimited licences they give away on faithlifebible.com (my guess: it won't work since you already have one)Have joy in the Lord!

Amazing thing, I opened my homepage yesterday and all of the Faithlife stuff is back. Don't know why maybe they had complaints since the Faithlife pictures and and articles make the homepage interesting.
