I've wondered when they were going to add the final two volumes to a very good set. Thanks for the exposure. Price is fair. Although I have them, the other two OT volumes read the same price, though they are years older. I've placed my order.

Nice to complete the set. I have pre-ordered.

This is great! Does anyone know when they will be released? Hopefully Logos will ship these fast because of the high demand.

I thought these were going to be put together along with OT pocket dictionaries to make up the IVP Reference Library Volume 2. I hope that's the case, if so, it'll be cheaper to buy the whole set/collection than buying the two bundles separately.

There is no ship date yet, but the green progress bar on the information page is all the way to the right. Should be fairly soon.

Sort of a silly question, I know, but...
is it really worth springing all that cash for this "Black Dictionary" series? Teetering on the fence here.

I already have many commentaries. Is this really going to augment my library?

Yes, because no commentary covers all the topics as these, or any other dictionaries, do. Sometimes commentaries will only quote a paragraph, but with this set you can get the whole enchilada when it comes to learning about different topics relevant to your studies.

That's rather high praise. I hope you're right. I'd referred to DPL before in past research, it seemed reasonably good as an occasional reference, nothing more. Still teetering on the fence...

Well, how often do you plan to use them? In my case, I guess I don't use them often, but I know they're in my library for reference. I was struggling between these "Black Dictionary" Series and the AYBD, but I went for the black ones since the IVP Reference only costed me $89 bucks when I purchased it. I know in the end these dictionaries will be more expensive than AYBD, but I guess I prefer them over the AYBD based on several reviews. Now, if some day I go back to full time ministry, I'll probably add the AYBD to my repertoire of dictionaries and encyclopedias. I still believe is a good set to have, though many label the AYBD on the liberal side. The black ones are more on the "conservative" side.

I spoke with a Logos employee about the release date for these dictionaries. The scheduled release date is between 6-9 months from now.
Blessings,

I was just looking at my orders, and the release date says "Ships Q3-2013", which is vague but still useful and nice to hear.
