Search Confusion

I am trying to search for the word "offence". I have "prioritized 10 “Top Bibles”. I have selected
“Search, All Bible Text, In New Testament, In Top Bibles”
All I get is 5 verses from ASV.
What am I possibly doing wrong? And I don't think I've got any filters set up.

That's version 5

Depending on what Bibles you use, you may need to search for offence OR offense.
You may also need to check Match All Word Forms.

Sorry for my confusion, but i have selected " Match all word forms".
1) If I select "ALL BIBLES" I get verses from 8 resourcess.
2) If I sselect "Top Bibles" I get 5 verses all from ASV.
3) If I seelect "All Open Bibles" (which is 5 different Bibles I still get only the five verses as in #2 - 5 verses from ASV.
I have 10 Bibles in my PRITORIZE list.
and 5 open in my middle pane.
What am I doing wrong?

The "Top Bibles" option will only find occurrences in your top 5 prioritized Bibles.
Of the 8 Bibles found in #1 above, which of them are among your top 5 prioritized Bibles?
I'm guessing that the only intersection between your 8 Bibles which include the word "offence" and your top 5 prioritized Bibles is the ASV.
Note that "offence" is the British spelling, and most Bibles spell it "offense" so that might be why you're not finding it in some versions where you'd expect it.
I think I own every single English Bible that Logos sells, and these are the only ones that have "offence" (that spelling) in the NT:
Darby, 1901 ASV, AV, AV 1873, NI, KJV1900, NJB, YLT, plus some volumes of the Numerical Bible and some of Ellicott's translations of Pauline epistles.
Chances are you don't have most of those prioritized.
"Match all word forms" does not match alternative spellings, unfortunately. It would only match variant endings: offence/offences. So fgh's advice to search for offence OR offense is the answer.

After I wrote the above, it dawned on me to try offen?e, but it turned out that while offence OR offense gave 349 hits (all English Bibles), offen?e only gave 258. It seems that the wildcard 'inactivates' Match All Word Forms. Do you (or someone else) remember seeing anything about whether this is intentional?

It was noted in http://community.logos.com/forums/p/29395/217792.aspx#217792 but I haven't seen anything from Logos to say whether it is intentional or not.
I guess it is - trying to match all word forms where a wildcard is included could get quite involved.

Convoluted, even!
The best result comes from:-
offen?e*
