Forum Changes

In honor of passing 10,000 forum members, we have fulfilled one of our user community's long standing wishes: Forums may now be marked read from the forum home page.

Or publishing the change just happened to coincide with passing the 10k member mark. One of the two for sure!

Additionally, we switched the forum list back to the top of screen as was when we originally launched these forums. At that time, we only had a few forums to visit and all the traffic was in what is now the Logos 3 forum, so reversing the layout was a time saver for everybody. Now that we have expanded into a number of forums to visit and the active posts flow of the Recent Topics section faster than I can follow, switching back to a focus on the forums should be helpful.

Except when we click on one of the options under "Recent Topics" it would be nice if those appeared at the top. (I understand that this may not be possible.)

BTW, in the middle of that switch, everything looked really weird for a while.

That would be nice, but that full panel is one control so I can't change the page layout based on what filter is selected.

Right, everything looks normal when all the files are in place, but viewing with even one file still being copied over really looks off.

Right, everything looks normal when all the files are in place, but viewing with even one file still being copied over really looks off.

What I saw at first made me wonder whether a hacker had messed with the sight. The table and font sizes and colors were all different. But it only lasted a little while.

Once again, I think this is a good move.

So we added a couple of very small changes today to finish this round of changes. The Recent Topics header on the forum home now duplicates the functionality of the View More link at the bottom of the forum home page.

And once more, I think we have finally changed the Report Abuse form enough that it should actually work for all logged in users now. Previously, it worked great for me, but not so well for everyone else and that didn't really help anybody.

David, that's great! Thank you. I was already beginning to get a bit tired of having to scroll down to see that "View More" link and now I won't have to do that. At least not until there are so many main forums that they fill up my whole screen and push the "Recent Topics" header right off the bottom... Then it will be time to get a bigger screen. :-)
