Hi Jeff! Welcome to the forums. Sorry you are having troubles. [:S]
The first question I should ask... Are you trying to run both versions on the same computer in the same user account? If so, that isn't possible (or at least recommended).
Second, the "log" you posted is the crash log that apple created... but it isnt really useful to us. We need ones from Logos itself.
Third, reading logs in the forums is very difficult. Please delete the log from your last post (if possible) by editing the post.
Last of all... you will need to:
Here is a link to the wiki to give you some help about logging. If you have any difficulties, please let us know.

Welcome [:D]
Noticed older 5.0.1.290 version. Current Logos 5 stable release is 5.0.2.0727 => https://s3.amazonaws.com/downloads.logos.com/LBS5/Installer/5.0.2.0727/LogosMac.dmg
After Logos 5 has been opened, the old "Logos Bible Software 4" application can be dragged to the trash since opening Logos 5 upgrades your database files to a version that cannot be opened by Logos 4. Likewise, Logos 5.0.1 cannot open database files, which have been updated to 5.0.2
Pasting the contents of an Apple crash report into a forum thread is a bit challenging to read and reply along with lacking Logos diagnostic information. Wiki has => http://wiki.logos.com/Diagnostic_Logging#Logos_5_for_OS_X
One option is editing post to remove crash report, then use paperclip to attach file containing crash report. Wiki has => http://wiki.logos.com/Using_the_Forum#Editing_or_deleting_posts and => http://wiki.logos.com/Using_the_Forum#Adding_a_picture_to_a_Post
Keep Smiling [:)]
I am not seeing a place to edit what I posted. I am sorry for that, I have updated to the newest build with the same result.8765.Logos.log
the more button is not giving me the option to delete previous post
sorry
Jeff
This looks like a problem with local preferences.
Delete the folder /Users/JeffsMac/Library/Application Support/Logos4/Documents/3e2l4sew.lco/LocalUserPreferences and restart Logos.
that looks like it did the trick, is there something I should watch our for?
No. Personally not know what causes SQLite database file(s) to become malformed nor when.
Thankful for Logos diagnostic files so can identify which file(s) to delete when needed. With Logos syncing information to cloud storage, Thankful can delete database file(s) and rebuild then sync for most items.
Thankful for a number of Logos users and employees that can read diagnostic files, then provide suggestions.
