I installed Logos4; the indexing completed. When I use Logos, I do not see the blue icon in the upper right menu. Should the indexer be running all the time or just after the program has been installed?
A complete index is performed when the program is first installed.
After this, when new or updated resources are added, only those resources are indexed and a supplemental index is created.
When the supplemental index gets too large, the program will force a complete reindex.
You can chose to reindex everything if you want from the search pane.
In the next release, there will be commands to allow both full indexing and a true merging of indexes.
The blue icon for indexing should be in the task bar not on the upper right menu. On the upper right menu bar is the synchronization indicator. That is about putting your layouts and personalizations up to the Logos server so you can have the same features (Reading plans, saved items, highlights, etc.) on two or more computers (including IPhone). If you don't see that double arrow circle thingy on the right end of the menu bar, it may be because you have turned off "Use Internet" under "Tools" --> "Program Options" or because you are not connected to the Internet. If you want syncing you have to be connected and have Use Internet turned on (default setting).
Indexing is a totally different function.
