Proximity units other than "words"

Libronix allows proximity to be specified by a certain number of words, characters, clauses, sentences or paragraphs. As far as I can see the only proximity unit is words in Logos 4 and 5. Are the other proximity units available?

I realize that the Logos 4/5 word proximity is far more useful than the similar feature in Libronix, because it meatures an actual number of words, rather than an estimated number of words based on the number of characters between search terms. But I wonder if the other proximity units are implemented or planned.

    Hi Harry

    CHARS is available.

I don't think any others are.

In LDLS3, clauses, sentences and paragraphs were simulated by 30, 100 and 1000 characters respectively. You can emulate this in Logos 5 by simply multiplying your "WITHIN x CHARS" search by those constants.

We removed these units in Logos 5 because they weren't "real". We don't currently plan to bring them back (as simulated or as "real" units).

I appreciate that the simulated proximity units were removed, since they could mislead users. The true word proximity in use since Logos 4 is much better.

I had hoped that real clause, sentence and paragraph proximity would be included. But lacking that, it is good to have clarity about what numbers were actually used in Libronix.
