ISSUES & SUGG: Windows 8 Touch - Layout Menu

[Not sure how to post these. I don't believe there is any official commitment for touch screens for desktop Logos, so these aren't really bugs yet. Otherwise, some of these would be bugs while others are just suggestions for ease of use. My inclination is to post these in sets grouped by feature or functional group. Are these issues / suggestions welcome at this time? In this format?]

ISSUES:

  • Scrolling by swiping is broken in the way it handles the active selection (it "sticks" at the top or bottom of the list box). Once the selection scrolls beyond the bounds of the box (or if a touch gesture is detected) the active selection should disappear.
  • Selecting a layout, the main window temporarily shrinks to ~ 1/4 screen, maximizes, and then loads layout. This occurs on desktop Win8 also.
  • If you activate the on-screen keyboard after choosing to rename a layout, it dismisses the layout menu. Touching inside the rename textbox should activate the touchscreen if this is a touch device and if no keyboard is docked, both states can be queried through Windows. (This is likely to be a generalized issue throughout the app for keyboard entry in menus and popups.)

SUGGESTIONS:

  • Flick an auto save layout left/right to delete from the list.
  • Touching the "name" of an auto-saved layout (the text that reads "Now" or "Snapshot") should invoke the rename function.
  • Wish there was a layout template for two panes stacked vertically, this is very useful in portrait mode on a tablet.
