Removing old icon from Mac Desktop

I have a MacBook Pro (but am a bit new to Mac).  I installed the new Logos 5 engine (haven't yet upgraded, just the new engine).  However, the old Logos 4 icon is still on the desktop.  Is there a way to remove it?  I can't drag it to the trash, and I don't know if I can fully delete the program and still have everything I need.  Any thoughts?  Sorry it's a bit more of a Mac question, but does relate because if I can remove the whole and free up disk space that would be great too.  Thanks.

That's what you should be able to do, or right-click on it and trash it from there. Perhaps you need to close Logos first?

Do not touch the Logos 4 folder in Application Support. L5 still uses it, it just can't be renamed for technical reasons.

If icon is in dock, wonder about right click on icon, then options so can choose remove from dock.

Opening Logos 5 upgrades database version so Logos Bible Software 4 application is no longer usable.  Can safely drag Logos Bible Software 4 application to the trash.
