Download management - how to trigger/sync time

Very pleased to see a suggestion I made sometime ago about being able to manage downloaded books has been implemented. However ...

The recent blog post said you could mark items in your library to download to a mobile device, and then the download would start when the mobile app was restarted. How do I restart Logos on an iPad? Presumably I need to shutdown the app and then relaunch it somehow ...

And also, I downloaded a whole bunch of books (Welwyn Commentaries) on my iPad, but the tag has not been added to my library on the desktop (despite performing a number of forced updates). Is there a delay syncing between desktop library and mobile device download?

Apps in iOS run in a "hibernation" or "suspended" mode when closed… until you manually close the app OR the device runs out of memory. To manually close an app: While the app isn't active, double click the center (home) button on your iPad or iPhone. This will bring up the multi-task bar. To close the app, press and hold any icon in the multi-task bar. When the icons start wiggling, press the red "minus" icon on the Logos app.

I'm sorry, I am not following. What "tag" are you talking about?

Thank you. I can stop and restart the Logos app now.

But it does not seem to start doiwnloading the books marked on the desktop app. I suspect this could be a sync delay issue.

What I have done is this:

    1. On desktop, open library, select all NICNT/NICOT books, and ticked to download to the iPad
    2. On iPad, manually downloaded all Welwyn commentaries

I expect therefore that when I restart the iPad app, the NICNT/OT commentaries will start to download, but they don't

Furthermore, I expect that when I open the library on the desktop app, and rich-click on the columns header and choose Devices, that the Welwyn commentaries will be marked as downloaded to the iPad, but they aren't.

However after a desktop restart they are so marked (albeit a couple of hours after I downloaded them). And after the restart, the NICNT/OT commentaries I marked to download have been unmarked! I will remark them and see what happens ...

OK - seems to be working now. I can only think that the requirement is to close the desktop application before retsrating the mobile application. So I can:

    1. In desktop, select multiple documents from library view and then tick the iPad box in the information panel
    2. Exit desktop app
    3. Restart iPad app - app starts downloading the marked documents

This is a really good way to perform bulk downloads to a mobile device.
