I was using the context menu of the library icon in the top left corner To open the library (uppermost option).

2068.apple error report.txt
Ooooh! ... something new ! [:D] .. to me at least.
After the usual crash posting here, and sending a message to Apple, I used the ReOpen on the apple error panel .. I saw a message box asking me to outline the problem for Logos themselves. Not seen that before.
A couple of issues with it though ...
Martin,
We did actually get the logs.
It appears that you (and several others) are having crashes with a particular Apple input technology called IMKInputSession.
Do you have any third party apps or other non-default input or keyboard settings?
We haven't been able to reproduce this in house yet.
Thanks,
Tom
Hi Tom.
3rd Party Apps ... and keyboard settings ... to be honest I am not sure!
The additional apps that I have that may come under this are:
I do not think that I have anything else running in the background that would monitor / change basic input methods.
I am having trouble opening L5 ... each time that I do I am getting Logos Error Reported screen ... sometimes it goes and then I see a timeout ... but at the moment it has disappeared completely ... and seems to be preventing L5 from loading.
Choosing Quit has no effect. Normally when Quit fails, OS X replaces quit with Force Quit ... but I am not seeing that here so I have force quit via the apple menu.
The menu bar also has an interesting menu ...
Retrying L5 worked next time in that L5 has loaded. (I presume that logs have been sent by the app, but I still get the time out error). I am at work, with a very fast connection etc. etc.
Does the timeout mean that, at my end, a flag 'error reported correctly' is not being set? Is that why it is now sending reports every time I log on?
Thanks.
Yes. If you click cancel, the crash will be ignored and you should be able to startup normally as it will skip this crash and treat it as a successful submission.
Is there any more information you can give me about this crash? We've seen several crash reports of this type that appear to be related, but I think yours is the only one we have a little bit of a description of.
Other than right clicking to open the popup menu for library, are there any other details that might be relevant? For instance, what resources or panels did you have open? What were you working on before you went to open the Library (e.g. notes, clippings, guides, etc)?
Sorry Phil, there is not a lot more that I can give you.
To be honest, I cannot even remember why I was opening the library ... it is usually permanently open these days. I have looked back at the recent saved layouts but they did not trigger anything either.
Thanks Martin. We'll keep looking for a root cause.
