insert line tool in the bible

When I am studying Scripture I would like to insert a separator line to mark logical breaks (pericopes, First/Second/Third ideas, Jesus speaking to unbelievers and then to disciples, etc.). I know this can be done in Sentence diagram, but I wanted to simply "highlight between verses" or have a similar visual filter in the Bible. I am open to any ideas.

I am familiar with custom highlighting, but could you elaborate?

one thought that I had was to simply highlight one section with one solid color and another section with another color, but this is too much color for me, and it would interfere with other highlighted words in a section.

I'm not sure if custom highlighting will do what you want it to… I haven't played around with it enough to know. It sounds like you would actually want a line break, right?

I can do this (highlight the last line of a logical block with double underline style), not ideal (if panels ever change size, position, font changes, etc) but could work.

Ideally, I would like a separator, not attached to words, but to passage, where it would show in all installed bibles. Also, in the example above, it would be nice if the double line spanned the entire column - it would make it a better visual separator

If you want it in "all installed bibles," the current highlighting feature certainly won't work. Highlights are by "selection" only, and therefore by definition apply to a single resource only.

As Toughski demonstrated highlighting can work for individual bibles. You are correct that the user would have to mark-up each individual bible / resource he wants to have the custom highlight appear in.

I can see the benefit in having highlights tied to a reference that would cross over to all bibles with that reference, rather than just a selection in an individual resource. Not being a techie I don't know how hard that would be; or if it is even possible.
