I don't know how well this will display, but in this example, the lemma should have been (as BibleWorks correctly displays) ΕΝΩΤΙΖΟΜΑΙ, not ΕΝΩΤΙΦΖΟΜΑΙ, as the Lemma displays. How did the extra PHI get in?? I had a similar problem with other words in the LXX which I emailed about to Logos about a month ago.
Here is another definite instance of buggy behavior. Like I have said before, a person not knowledgeable in Greek would not know why the word is not displayed in the Lexicon) here is a little of what I wrote in that email:
In Psalms 118:147 (119:147 in the KJV and Hebrew) the word προσφθάνω is not looked up properly because it displays the (non existent) word as προσφθάνω instead of προφθάνω in the power lookup and when the right mouse button is clicked.
When I looked up ΠΡΟΦΘΑΝΩ by typing by hand, the definition would show up in the lexicons.
Interestingly, both this instance today and the one from Psalm 119 (118 in the LXX), there is a PHI involved.
So, it seems that the problem is the parsing of LXX words, which in a lot of their conjugations are not found in certain forms in the LXX, that is some words found in both the NT and OT LXX in Greek in their instances are found in totally different (or slightly) conjugations, so that even though the morphology is different, the definition is the same.
There are thousands of possible conjugations for both the Hebrew and Greek, and only some of them are found in the Scriptures, one really has to know the language to be able to tell the difference, especially in the Hebrew, where the vowels are not present in the original, and different markings for the same consonants will change the meaning of the word inasmuch as some of the words look the same in their consonantal form, but can be from different roots (because of the peculiarities of Hebrew) the yod, he, nun being weak letters which are dropped often, and the fact that in the prefixes and suffixes attached to the word (as well as the future forms, etc. yod and tav being added a lot of times) are not part of the root.
In the word προφθανω, found only once in the NT in Matthew 17:25, when double clicked in the NT Greek, DID give the right definition. The form this word is found is προέφθασα in the NT. This behavior is not surprising, the NT Greek texts (from the TR to WH to Scrivner's, etc.) have had the different forms parsed and examined in the computer versions for a much longer time. The LXX has a lot of variations.
But still, as in the sample today with ἐνωτίζομαι, that word IS obviously found in the Lexicons, that is, when I double clicked in the LXX version of Isaiah 1:2, I should have got the definition, but since it parsed the Lemma as ΕΝΩΤΙΦΖΟΜΑΙ, adding the PHI before ZETA, that is not a Greek word, so no definition is displayed.
Last time, I deduced the error by the fact that I did not find the definition either with the Perseus Web Lookup, and by erasing an extra letter, did get a definition in Perseus. Sometimes (a lot of times) I have found the definition of LXX words through Perseus, but when that won't work, it might be a telltale sign that the Lemma is wrong.
