How do you use remote app?

I open remote app on iPad, open presentation so it's all loaded on my iPad. I Open Proclaim, put Proclaim "On Air" and nothing I do on the iPad app (advancing slides) advances the slides that are on the PC.

Is there a button I push to "take control" of the presentation? I just wish there was any sort of documentation other than what you find on the forums.

Maybe I just tried using it at a bad time; it appears other people cannot use the remote app, either. Of course this happens the first time I try using it..

1) Use Proclaim Mac or Windows application to create a presentation. Make sure to set your presentation's location. The mobile apps use their GPS location to find nearby (based on the presentation's location) on air presentations.

2) Take the presentation on air using the button in the upper right of the main window

3) Start the Proclaim remote application and sign in. You should see your on air presentation at the top of the list.

4) Select the on air presentation and begin navigating slides using the remote.

Earlier this month we experienced some server load issues on Sunday morning but since a recent hardware upgrade (1.5 weeks ago) we have been easily handling the current load. We are continuing to increase the scalability of our web services.

The problem is with step 3. There is no list, it just opens up the presentation. And when I scroll through the slides on my iPad, it does not scroll on the computer.

It sounds like you're in the preview mode. Tap the back button in the upper left of the screen. Then you should see the presentation list w/ the on air presentation at the top.

No, it's definitely "On Air" as the slides are projected and I can use the computer keyboard to change them.

I think it's a sync issue. I have not been able to sync with the server since Sunday.

Re-reading this comment, you need to tap the slide you want to navigate to on the remote. Are you tapping the slide or just scrolling?

I think it's a sync issue. I have not been able to sync with the server since Sunday.

We published a fix for those types of sync issues today. Try restarting Proclaim and see if that is resolved for you.

At first I was scrolling through the slides with no response, then I tapped on the slide and they advanced. Pretty cool feature!

Hi Jim,

I did occasionally experience lag when controlling remotely, but this has improved dramatically in recent months.

I know that this is really obvious (and forgive me as you will no doubt already have considered this), but it may be worthwhile double checking that your slides do not have a transition activated (which may result in, an albeit intentional, lag). I appreciate this probably isn't the issue, but thought I would mention it just in case.

Andy thanks for the tip, I hadn't thought of the transition time on the slides. I checked and it wasn't the problem. However one thing that did take care of the lag, was clicking on the forward arrow outside the slide, instead of swiping the slide. By clicking the arrow the slide advanced with no lag.
