Personal Book Builder: Did I Lose Almost Everything?
I did a clean upgrade to Windows 8 recently, and just noticed that it appears that all of my personal book builder files from before the upgrade are no longer available. They are still listed under personal books, but when I click "open" a new frame opens that says "You don't have a license to view this resource." There is also a warning icon by the .docx file association.
Can someone help me understand what I did wrong, and what I should be doing now so that my PBB work is not lost in the future? (I post all of my own sermons and study notes in PBB for easy access in the future)

Personal books don't sync with the servers, but the metadata (author, title, etc.) does. You will need to recompile the personal books from the .docx files.

I hope you have a backup of your .docx original documents you compiled the PB books from. Logos provides so far only the Metadata syncing via their servers - not the resources themselves. You need to recompile the PB resources from docx files or (if you have backup of those .lbspbb files from the Logos... Resources folder) you can use the SCAN command from the location of the backup to get them back to your new Logos installation.

If you have a backup of the compiled resources, I believe you scan the folder and the all the resources will be recognized… I have never used that solution because I don't consider any of my personal books to be "complete." If you ever need to change anything about the personal book, you must have the .docx file and recompile… and yes, that is a "one at a time" endeavor.

I did a couple of times and it works. Only with the last beta there were some problems to use the method. I don't know exactly what caused the problem, I haven't had time to find out more about it.
