I see that my post was not posted emily. Not sure why. Howvever, what I said was this,
I tried to insert a PNG into a post and it didnt' work. I then tried a JPG and that worked. Does this have something to do with L5?

Has nothing to do with L5. Posting to forum is a completely separate thing.
There is apparently a bug having to do with posting images to the forums at the moment. I'm not sure if it's only for PNGs and not JPGs or what the deal is, but I think the developers are aware of it.
