CP: Free Book: New Strategy required
The Community Pricing offer of getting "The Messages of the Book" free requires a change in strategy to meet the deadline.

The offer is only open until the end of this month so it is this time deadline not the price that is important (we get it free, BUT only if it crosses the finish line (100%) by the end of the month). At the current rate of progress that is NOT going to happen as there are not enough bidders involved at $8.
HOWEVER: there ARE enough bidders involved IF everyone raises their bid to $10. It would them cross the 100% finish line almost immediately and we would ALL get it for free. If we hold out at $8 it will likely stagnate and no one will get it free.
This one is not a lower-the-price competition, it is a TIME deadline competition.

A couple small differences from what you stated though, Rosie: first, only successful bidders will get it for free. Right now, the suggested bid is $8 — if it crosses at $8, anyone who bids less than $8 won't get it for free. So make sure you're bidding as you normally would on a book you want! Second, we will make sure this book goes into production; this one's on us! So don't worry about hitting 100% with this... we're simply trying to show users who are new to Community Pricing how to best use the program.

If we truly understand the principle being applied here "brave" souls would bid the maximum (that's $34) and watch this baby "sale" -sic over the center field wall. Or maybe it's to early for baseball metaphors.
Instead, "cross over" -sic and slam dunk this resource into production. Because the book is free only the time spent in teaching the lesson is real.
