Schliermacher is justly called the father of modern liberalism. It would be good to have his works in your library to consult.

Absolutely. I don't share his views or the theological tenets that arose from them, but you cannot deny his influence. Therefore, I want to be sure I have access to read and reference his works.

I'm really not that familiar with them but think maybe I should at least have a basic knowledge. How would you recommend reading these?

There is a reason I released PB's of his "Speeches" as well as "Christmas Eve". They are both decent introductions to his theology. Of course, now that official ones are coming, I will not release any updates...
