It is a part of this set for $169.95 http://www.logos.com/product/5783/origins-of-ancient-israelite-religion-collection
Should not the first volume be much less?
No!
You get a better deal when you buy as part of a bundle. Capice?
Wait! This does seem a little confusing. $180 for one resource versus $170 for 8 resources, one of which is the $180 resource.

$180 for a 208 page book seems overpriced to me.
Amazon hardcover is at $180.00 others start at 75.00. http://www.amazon.com/Canaan-Israel-Antiquity-Introduction-Biblical/dp/1841272582/ref=sr_1_cc_1?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1364570409&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=Canaan+and+Israel+in+Antiquity%3A+An+Introduction
The cost must be wrong. I did a quick search on the inet to get an idea of average cost in print, and found $35.95 paperback from a large reputable distributor. Logos cost usually don't deviate as much as this extent unless there was a mistake on the webpage (Logos). I would definitely call Logos to actually confirm this.

Some publisher's books are amazingly high e.g. Sheffield Publishing Company, T&T Clark or Almond Press. Especially when the topic is obscure or scholarly. They have to make up their profits because they don't expect a big demand.
