Ancient Version of WBC

Hi All,

I was digging through some old software, and found my CD copy of the Word Biblical Commentary. It was a version that ran under Windows 95/98. Any chance I could get it to run on Windows 8? If I recall correctly, I paid $500 bucks for it back when I was in seminary, trying to avoid lugging around 59 volumes of books. It would be nice to use it again. Any tips?

I tried running it using "autorun" and then under "compatibility mode," with no results.

I assume that you have libronix 59 volume WBC. I would call to costumer service to activate it or link it to your usernamene.

Welcome to the forum Curtis. If you ever used it, and it was registered with Logos using an email address, then you can have immediate access to it. If you have Logos software on your computer using the same email address, it should be in your library. If you have the software using a different email address then you need to contact customer service and have the two email addresses merged.

You'll be able to use it in Logos 3, 4, or 5 (you might as well use 5) on Windows 8. If you're running a 32-bit OS, you can get Logos 2 working, but on 64-bit OSs, it won't work (because it's a 16-bit application). You'll need to make sure that you're purchase is linked with your Logos account. If you've ever used Logos 3, then it should already be linked. If not, you'll need to ring customer services, and give them the serial number of your CD and ask them to link it to your Logos account. If you don't yet have a Logos account, you'll need to create one first.

Then, download Logos 5 at www.logos.com/download sign in with your email address and password, and you should be good to go.

Thanks for the info guys. Created an account. Downloaded Logos 5. (it's come a long way since I last saw it!).

My problem now, is that I never used it online. I only installed it on my laptop back then. It DOESN'T have a serial number on it. I guess they weren't as worried about it being pirated back then. So not sure how to prove that I own it, if I were to call Customer Service (?)

But, I'll give it a try...

That far back there were two WBC titles. One had 54 volumes and the other was a small introductory resource of about 4 volumes. The 59 volume CD came along much later.

Assuming it was a Libronix or Logos Bible software practice, yes you can. Just call Logos customer service. If it was not a Libronix or Logos Bible Software product, I doubt it.
