Is there a way to set the number of columns for ALL books?

As I jump from book to book, the number of columns displayed changes (usually reverting to one). Is there a way to set the number of columns displayed to a particular number or "auto" on a universal basis? Then, when necessary, the columns could be adjusted for content if the universal display did not work for that particular resource.

then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God." - Proverbs 2:3-5

I don't think so… but I believe that each resource should remember your preference for that particular resource.

In settings you should...if it keeps changing its because it's set to auto. Check Program Settings under the Tools Menu.

Are you sure? I can't find it if it is. Perhaps it is a PC only feature? It would seem strange to me… setting default columns doesn't make sense to me because you don't know what the size of each panel will be! It would be helpful if you could adjust all resources in a particular pane...

I could be wrong...I'm working from memory and don't have my computer nearby. But I seem to remember doing this. But I think I did this in Logos 4...I assumed it was still in Logos 5.

Unfortunately there is nothing under Program Settings in Logos 5 other than Justification and Line Spacing. Even when set to a specific number of columns, it changes from resource to resource.

You are correct on this. However, I don't really want to repeat the action on every single resource every single time I open a new one. But, perhaps that is what I will have to do. Thank you.

Out of curiosity… what is your preference?

For the most part I like "auto" as it makes it easier to read texts. Example: If reading single column and expanding to full screen, it creates painfully long sentences.
I do, however, use "one" for text that is graphic intensive, but this is a minimal part of my reading so I would gladly change those resources when I use them.

I think Logos should create a preference setting for this… I don't know about allowing all the choices available, but certainly "auto," "one," and "none." As I mentioned in a post above, it would also be good to have the ability to change the columns for all resources in a pane.

Amen to that, and again I say "Amen". [Y]
