This is my 1st March Madness. I have Platinum Base + Academic Discount.
.
I have WBC, Tyndale, EBC, AYBD. And I just bought all Carson's sale.
Can someone recommend me something worth buying?
Some commentary sets lack a commentary on Mal. I use: Wherein Have We Robbed God? Malachi’s Message for the Men of Today (I actually bought it at reg. price on Jan. 2. 2013, I might had qualified for a better price.) It works just fine for that part of the Bible. For somewhere ~½ books of the Bible I use semi-technical - technical commentaries.Other than that I don't know, I'll see what others say!

Buy Bock's two part commentary on Luke in the Baker Exegetical series. It is beyond good.
Anything by Carson or Moo. Tozer is also quite good on a devotional level.
Seconded, especially an Introduction to the New Testament and the Pillar Commentary on John. Those prices are a great deal!
I would check out the first two parts of N.T. Wright's Christian Origins and the Question of God series (The New Testament and the People of God and Jesus and the Victory of God). You can pick up the third part, the splendid The Resurrection of the Son of God, via the Holy Week sale (here).
There are, incidentally, other good deals in the Holy Week sale (in case you missed it). I note that R.E. Brown's The Death of the Messiah and Hengel's Crucifixion (among others) are offered at discount.
Andy, that set might be good I bought it used in Logos (along with two other books) from Joe Wallace. He had originally bought it on pre-pub + I didn't need to pay that whole "pre-pub" price. Joe is reliable, he is selling his whole library because of financial reasons: joew AT bellsouth DOT net Ask for an Excel spreadsheet of what he has left and/or surf to the stilltruth forum:

Why would he want to do that when it's $0.50 cheaper on March Madness? (They've made an error on the Holy Week page: http://community.logos.com/forums/p/68495/476685.aspx#476685.)
Anyone who can tell me what Wright books I shouldn't miss out of the ones that weren't included last year?
Ah ... that explains it. I bought Wright's Resurrection volume for reading today. I put in the discount code but when I checked out, Logos, bless their hearts, changed it! I haven't gone back to check the $.50; better to 'believe'.
On Amazon they said the Resurrection volume made a great door-stop, and spring is here in Arizona, and just what the doctor ordered (just have to read next to the door).
Erm... Because I missed that The Resurrection of the Son of God appeared half-way down the March Madness list of discounted titles...? [:$]
Apologies, it was the excitement of all that madness which got to me.
Good spot. And you are quite correct.
[:D]
I bought Douglas Moo's 3 commentaries.. NIVAC Romans + NIVAC 2Peter & Jude + PNTC James
http://www.logosmarchmadness.com/2013/round-4-deals/#moo
I think Moo's deals is good because Academic account gets no discount from buying NIVAC.
Bock's commentary on Luke is still steep though its 40% off.
Anything else guys?
Good spot.
I already had it in the cart and saw it switch over to March Madness, so naturally I got curious as to why. Doubt I would have noticed it otherwise. Though it's the one Wright title I'm sure about buying, so I guess it's possible.
Carson's New Testament Commentary Survey, 6th ed. for $3.75 looks like a valuable tool to leverage any decent Logos library.

I've been reading Carson's For the Love of God vol. 1 since Jan 1 via RSS feed from the Gospel Coalition blog. Now I have it in my Logos Library (along with vol. 2) for just $5 each.

I got that, anything else anyone would suggest to buy from March Madness?
You may want to consider How to Read the Bible for All It's Worth by Gordon Fee. If you are interested in preaching you may want to pick up Craig Blomberg's works on Interpreting the Parables and Preaching From the Parables. Also since you have the academic discount you can browse some of offers of people you like and sometimes they'll be cheaper than the MM price. i.e. A Pastor in Prayer by Spurgeon. Happy browsing.
Cheers,
Marcus

I brought it off of the Holy Week Sale recently and was surprised they then offered it in MM (they didn't last year). I wrote to customer service and they will give me a refund. The should do the same for you I imagine. That's .50 you can use for something else.
All the best,
ChelseaFC
Thank you, Chelsea!
I'm guessing I might have saved the 50 cents and probably due to your experience. Besides, I'm near the top of the Logos Excessive Refunds List (us Libronix'ers have to 'pay' to see if we 'got').
DMB, another book on Holy Week sale with a view contrasting that of Wright's "Resurrection of God", on 2 Mc: Resurrection by Michael Hayes, David Tombs, Stanley E. Porter. See note #80 at: http://www.biblearchaeology.org/post/2011/08/08/The-Physical-Resurrection-a-Historical-Fact-Part-Two.aspx ... at the bottom of the page. What do You think?

No worries.....
A faithful Libronix user....Nice [Y]
I picked up a slew of D. A. Carson resources. May I recommend his New Testament Commentary Survey, Exegetical Fallacies, and Intro to the New Testament?
I personally like Carson's writing style. It's conversational, but erudite and I often learn new words from him (no problem if you can double-click in Logos). He is in the solid middle ground of evangelicalism in my opinion.
Get something by Carson. You won't be disappointed.
I think an absolute steal is the Commentary on the NT Use of the OT for $15.00. The print volume is around $50.00. That's in the Carson section. I don't agree with a lot of the conclusions, but the data is invaluable.
For those who ordered this book and are thinking about whether to keep it or return it...:

That stood out to me as one of the best buys. Great resource. Unlikely to see that price again.
Wow, that was incredible, I guess I didn't read the point you made about already having Carson. In that case I draw a blank. Hope I can be of help next time.
Bump.
I bought this a week ago at full price. Does anyone know if it is possible to get a partial refund or store credit (to reinvest in other titles of course)?
It would be a good feature in the store if titles about to be discounted were marked somehow. Perhaps this already happens? (Excuse the newbie )
Just call Customer Service and they will refund you.
Hi Samuel; I just logged on and noticed your post. Have you tried the chat function on the Logos website yet? I used it a couple of times, and quite happy with it. I noticed it when viewing a resource on the page. Also, here is the link for Logos contact information.
https://www.logos.com/contact
Thanks Erwin, that will do the trick. Obvious really. I haven't used the chat as it usually appears when I'm viewing the site on my phone. I'm usually pretty good at working out this sort of thing but I'm juggling a sick toddler at the moment. I have to say that this is one of the friendliest forums I've ever visited. Very supportive of even silly/obvious questions!
Sick babies are no fun at all. Forget about getting anything done until the sickness passes. I use the chat function when on my desktop, and find it easier to use the computer keyboard. Yes, I agree that this forum is very supportive and friendly. The little drama that may be experienced from time to time I can handle, as the drama is generally concerning valid points between people with some sense. :-)
Oh, if this will save you some keystroke, here is the direct link to the customer service email. customerservice@logos.com
What do you guys think on
NIVAC 1 Corinthians for $14.29 ? http://www.logosmarchmadness.com/2013/round-2-deals/#blomberg
BECNT on both Luke for $36/each http://www.logosmarchmadness.com/2013/round-3-deals/#bock
Are those good deals?

About NIVAC 1 Cor. I've heard good things about it, but don't own it.
And BECNT I think you'd be better off buying the whole set (at least the first 8 volumes) before spending $36 each on both Luke volumes. Bock is a great scholar and the two volumes are easy to read and understand. Very practical in spite of being a mid technical commentary.

Bump again.
I picked up Owen's "On Communion with God" that shows how prayer life should be to each member of the trinity and what specifically the prayers to each member of the Godhead: Father Son and Spirit should/can be like if they are according to their roles in scripture. I got this because it sounds like it will be an earth shattering work on my current prayer life.
I also picked up Piper's "Seeing and Savoring Christ" on how to savor Jesus in scripture, prayer and worship in everyday life. Piper recommends it as the only book that he has written that he also actually reads regularly.

I got the BECNT on both Lukes, because I thought it is cheaper by buying them separately. Don't you think?
