PBB Bible: do the books need to be in order?

Am working on the Douay Rheims Bible of 1609 / 1582 as a PBB. It does not match the Logos DR versification. So I have been trying to use the KJV versification so that when I use this PBB Bible the commentaries will match with the text.

I know that I will need to do something different for the “Deuterocanonical” / “Apocrypha” books

This Bible has [as seen by some] "extra" chapters in Daniel.
Daniel 13 is also named "Susanna"
Daniel 14 is also named "Bel and the Dragon"

Some Bibles have these as Daniel 13 and 14 or as books following Daniel while others put them in the “Apocrypha” section.

Question A): can you use different versification in the same PBB Bible? [KJV where it works and something else for the “Deuterocanonical” / “Apocrypha” books]

Question : if the books of the Bible are in a different order from what is expected but you have the correct data types will they still be found when you try to find a verse as [for example] Susanna 1:5?

I'm sure You can put the books in a different order considering I have a well functioning PBB Bible where the NT comes before the OT, some of the apocrypha are removed, Jn comes first, Ro comes after Lk:

Sorry, but I can not give you a copy. I can do it for my own use under the US fair use clause but unless you have sent Dr Peters his silver coins, sorry.

but at the rate I am going I will not finish before the second coming. [after getting into it a ways I have found better ways of doing it and the related commentary [as the Bible is a Study Bible am turning the Study part into a commentary] and am on my third restart. ] [Almost finished the Gospels and then redo Danial and start Revelation and then the related commentary]

No. The compiler accepts only one versification scheme / bible datatype. I don't know how different the versification would be from BibleDR, but I think there will be more issues with BibleKJV - see http://wiki.logos.com/Bible_Verse_Maps#id:1_Maccabees

Yes. Mapping will take care of Susanna 5 vs Dan 13:5 as references outside the bible, but you have to use the correct reference if typing directly into the bible.

They'll be no problem if you want to use a versification scheme that includes Daniel 13-14 - choose one from http://wiki.logos.com/Bible_Verse_Maps#Daniel

There's also no problem if you want to have the books Susanna and Bel and the Dragon - choose one from http://wiki.logos.com/Bible_Verse_Maps#Susanna

But to have both - no versification scheme provides for that. If you just want it to keep linked Bibles in sync, don't worry. Logos will do that already. If you want it so that someone can type either Daniel 13 or Susanna 1 in the reference box, you could, in theory, supply two milestones for each verse in this section, like this:

[@Bible+nab:Daniel 13:1][@Bible+lxx:Susanna 1]

That should work, but it's not recommended. If you do do this, I would suggest that you have the second reference as the one that you want to appear in the reference box as the 'main' reference.

in much more detail then I did before but it looks like I want BibleKJV

bible+kjv, BibleKJV, Cambridge Paragraph Bible (AV 1873), KJV (1769, 1900), KJV Apoc

Will also need to review differences between Cambridge Paragraph Bible and the other KJV Bibles

BibleDR does not quite work. The two DR Bibles do not follow the same versification which is why I went with the KJV versification and fixed up the text as needed.

Final goal is to insure that the PBB that I generate will match up with most commentaries.

Don't think that I can get this done before Logos releases "Classic Commentaries and Studies on the Biblical Apocrypha / Deuterocanon" but with the delays they have had with "Revelation" maybe.

I agree with your decision but not your logic[;)] For those of us used to the LXX canon, Dan 13-14 are the more common names.[:D] With the growth of Bibles that include Orthodox "apocrypha", I think you are correct that Susanna and Bel will "win out".

The various LXX in Logos don't use Dan 13-14 - they are more catholic[:D]
