Now that everything is in the cloud us there any reason to keep the old logos media (CDs/DVDs)? I know they can't be given away as the license is still in use.
Thanks in Advance
Good to keep.
Saves time and You do Logos a favour upon re-installation´.
I respectfully disagree with Unix on both points. It would take MORE time to load everything I have from DVD's. First, I would have to install Libronix. Then load it all. Then sync the licenses. Then load Logos 5. Then do the scan. I would much rather download things from the cloud.
I don't see any favors being done for Logos here. Everything is set up for cloud downloading.
I tossed all of mine, I don't regret it, and I doubt if I ever will.

I thought of something else: Many (maybe even most) of the files on physical media have been updated and would have to be downloaded from Logos anyway.
I have a reason to keep them… I purchased a CD resource (Discipleship Journal) from a third party (unopened, unused). The resource was added to my account and was working fine… but one day I went to open an article that I had bookmarked… and the resource was no longer working. The fix took about 5 minutes, but I sent Logos a copy of the CD-ROM cover by email. I am not sure what caused the glitch, but Logos didn't have a record of the purchase since it was via a now-defunct third party. For that reason alone, I am keeping my CD-ROMS.

True. For that reason, I would rather just download them directly from Logos.
I know you don't actually have to have the CDs for Logos to unlock a resource but I believe technically you are required to forward the CDs to the recipient who purchases your license from you. And never say "I'll never sell that." I just bought John MacArthur's NT Commentaries from a guy who would "never" sell them. [:#]
I would rather be safe than sorry so I keep physical copies just in case.
I also have a story. Since I don't have internet, it was natural for me to install L4 to my second laptop from DVD a few weeks ago, and even if I would have internet installing from DVD was much faster. I now have two computers with Logos, I find this a cheaper and more portable sollution for monitor display area, than having one big laptop. The seller of this second computer said that it has "2 GB RAM". Well, when I tried to update to L5 (official system requirements say that L5 needs 2 GB minimum, but L4 was possible to install with as little as 1 GB RAM even though the page stated 2 GB) the installation interrupted.
L5 can't be installed on almost any laptops that "have 2 GB RAM" because the graphics card uses a few hundred MB of Your RAM as video mem.
The mem of this second computer can be expanded to "8 GB" (means 7.6 GB available), that's why I bought it plus that it has a more modern CPU than my first laptop.
But as there is so little difference between L4 and L5 with my base-package background: OLL, L4 Catholic Foundations, Bronze (and Verbum Basic), no minimal crossgrades, I'm in no hurry neither to upgrade the RAM nor to update Logos.
What slows down this second computer is that it has no SSD and I'm not going to do anything about that.
The first laptop is maxed out.
So just in case You suddenly need to buy a second or third spare computer and look at the price only ...

EDIT: I had not removed a classified about buying a laptop (in it I was ready to pay $77-$123), and a guy called now on my desk phone: he can sell a 1-year-old laptop with AMD quad core CPU, dedicated Graphics card, 8 GB RAM, 150 GB HDD, Windows 7. And the price is $109. He has used the computer for graphics/drawing, Malwarebytes, it has had antivirus and no detections. It's available from April 16. I'm thinking of it as a third spare computer. The reason for the low price is that fan bearing is worn out, so the fan makes noise:
I say keep the CD/DVD'S. They make great decorations, ornaments for the Christmas tree etc.. Then when everyone sees them "hanging out" they make good conversation starters. [;)]
KEEP for sure... Especially for the older stuff IE L2. In order to get some old stuff activated on my account, I am going to have to find and set up a windows xp computer (or else xp mode, or xp virtual machine on a more modern computer), install from my original disks. Then install L3, import everything from L2. THEN I can sync the files into L5. I'm only getting like 4 or 5 resources that I don't already have. /hassle/
