BUG: Printing Reading Plan

This evening I tried to print a Reading Plan out for one of my parishioners who had missed a couple of Sundays because she was in the hospital.  I had the "Calendar" view open, but when I tried to print, LOGOS 5 insisted on printing the Reading Plan in "List" view.  Sadly, the option also showed all readings completed - though this was true for the church, it was not true for this parishioner.

I was able to use this and was able to reformat the Reading Plan so it would be more useful than the default "List" view, but was disappointed that I could not print out the calendar displayed within the Reading Plan itself. I could have exported it to Outlook, but I neither use nor have Outlook - so that option was not available.

I would expect the "Print" option to print what is on the screen - not some default view that might or might not be helpful to the intended recipient.

Blessings,
Floyd

Until a fix is found, have you considered taking a screen shot & printing that?

Maybe - but the first change I made in the Reading Plan for my parishioner was to change all references to "Ps" to "Psalm".  I don't know if I could have done this with a screen shot.

This parishioner is over 90 years of age and is reading the Bible for herself for the first time in her life.  Her background is Russian Orthodox and she is happily attending our worship service regularly every Sunday afternoon.  I want to make everything as easy for her to use as possible.

    Blessings,

    (emphasis mine)

Are you wanting to change the shortened title from Ps to Pslam? Are you doing this outside of the program somehow? Can you open the reading plan, set it to Calendar view go to print it and take a screenshot of the reading plan calendar next to the print panel?

The calendar view will not open in "Print" - when you choose print, all that displays is the list view.  -

We were reading, as a church, the Psalms during lent.  I used the Reading Plan to schedule the readings.  After my parishioner missed a couple of weeks because of her stay in the hospital, I wanted to print the calendar to MS Word so I could edit the text.  Except, at this point, there is no inherent way to print the calendar - only the list view.

I eventually ended up dividing the readings in the six weekly sections (seven Sundays) and formatting it onto two columns of sheet of paper displayed in landscape - again using MS Word.  Editing consisted of formatting, changing the "Ps" to "Psalm", and enlarging the typeface.  I think I changed the font to some type of sans serif font as well.

I would have liked to print the Calendar View using the options available in LOGOS - primarily by placing the displayed calendar into a MS Word document - so I could edit the created MS Word document.

Hopefully, LOGOS will take a look and see if this is even possible.

I didn't catch that you were doing this in Word, sorry. What you're trying to do is possible, I'm not sure why it isn't working for you. I think it would be best if you called us at your earliest convenience so we can more quickly troubleshoot the issue with you. The number is 800-875-6467.

I will call tomorrow - tonight I am sitting at a Barnes & Noble cafe waiting for my wife to have her break - won't be home till 10 PM EDT.  Talk to you then.

    Blessings.

Okay, found part of my problem - there are two selection items:

I discovered that the second option was selected - so I would naturally get something other than calendar view.  Now if I print to a printer - all is well.  But Send to a MS Word document still gives me the list view.  I will still call in the AM.

A conversation with Tech Support confirmed the error.  Some problems could be corrected by printing in Landscape mode - but that did not correct the problems related to exporting the text to Microsoft Word.  The technicians was able to verify the error, but could not ascertain whether LOGOS would attempt to address the issue in a future release of the software - one can only help.

Thanks for all who contributed to the exploration of this problem.
